"Modern C++" does not just imply code quality (and certainly doesn't imply anything about the current quality either), it implies updated coding style and techniques for what is now a 30+ year old language...

...so it's not a joke, it's a jab from someone who doesn't know what they're talking about. They should have waited a few years after the hires and saw how nothing had changed and THEN it would have been a valid joke.

I still think GGG should open a branch in Europe or the US. They would be able to hire people from a huge pool compared to the very limited NZ pool.

I tick all of the boxes except for that i studied CSharp and created games via Unity 3D - Would like to take a look at C++ as well

Yeah a few months back I asked my brother to consider applying at GGG, now I feel bad because they're not accepting anyone from outside NZ or Australia. That's just how the law is I suppose. Still could've taken me 20 minutes tops to check out their laws and I wouldn't have offered such a foolish suggestion.

Anyway, hope you get some quality people.

Too bad you wont hire outside of NZ or Australia. I'm a game dev in socal that specializes in ARPG's, with 15 years of game dev under my belt, 8 of those years in college.
