My mission was to create an informative cinematic that capture the attention and curiosity of newer players and those who have never played the game alike, while still stay compelling and entertain the veteran players. The biggest challenge was to come up with a captivating narrative capable of painting the bigger picture without bore the audience, while somehow demonstrate both the beauty of the game and the deeper mechanics in roughly 3 minutes. After several less than satisfying attempts, I landed on an new idea: Path of Exile is about the choice we make, and the path we take. Whether you are some nobody who just woke up on the quiet shores of Twilight-strand, or a divine hero who just finished slaying the toughest Celestial out about, one thing never changes... The path of redemption, the path of divinity, you can be steps or miles ahead of everyone else, but you are still a Traveler who walks the same path. And so I got to work, dividing the game into four smaller parts of the path, each with its own unique focus on the story, mechanics and game-play. This allowed me to razor focus on desired highlights without diluting the overall experience, while keeping the pace nice and smooth. 28 hours of editing, 900+ tweaks over 4 different takes later, I present to you: The Traveler. Not creative but a somehow unique way of killing shaper:
