What games do you wish to be remastered?

ja 2 still needs needs the fanpatches and even then i gltiches regulary, Additionally: sorry i don't only talk about you list. there are others. GoG doesn't do anything different then using either the windows compatibility modes(for games at win98+, sometimes the use a spcialised exe launcher) or run a dosbox. And dosbox has a problem, as it depends on you acutal cpu how the frametime and frames themselves are rendered. which get extremely annoying on AMD systems as you need the recalibrate the things for every other game. intel is more stable, but well just more, not completely.

And thats exactly wahat i mean with remastered. push up the resolutions(not only the shown field, but the actual resolutions of used sprites)and add widescreen support(which only breaks shooters from a balancing standpoint), as well as patch the games so they don't need an emulator. not that much to do right? unfortunately most of the companies and studios don't exist anymore... bit this was a thread about wishing.

If you don't care about little problems fine, I do, as i would with music when the timing doesn't work quite right, or when are strange spots in a picture. Or when, like XCOM2 GoG edition, it kills your savegame when a base attack happens... wooo

on a sidenode: SD3 will actual get a PC release... hopefully you can switch to the old graphics as squares superdeformed style is annoying. But even then it's nice to see the game released in west after 22 years.

Astrosmash!
Gothic 1 & 2 for sure. Just getting them to run on Windows 10 is a big hassle, and then they look like shit because they weren't made for 16:9 monitors.
GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.

Xcom2 is a sequel to the series and should be considered a Reboot. SD3 is a Remake. Remakes should be considered new games.

Some "remastered" games should be called Remakes, and ignorantly, unintentionally or purposely misnamed.

Just saying...

i talk about xcom TFTD also known in oldschool circles as xcom2, not the new firaxis game. It was an example of quasifunctioning oldschool game emulated by dosbox that are "fine" in grepmans opinion.
And of course SD3 will be a remake. I don't see new releases for the SNES around here. But as the pressconference suggested, there will be no change to story or mechanics, so you can see it as a remasterd version for a different plattform.

I don't call Xcom TFTD Xcom 2, what gives? That is not a thing. Otherwise you would have Xcom 2, 3, 4 and 5. X-Com: UFO Defense was the masterpiece and that success kinda ruin them. Their developers underappreciated their own masterpiece. They spent years trying to top X-COM, their missions devolved into failures wildly with the brand, mismanaging it into the ground.

Seiken Densetsu 3 is now officially known as Trials of Mana. Otherwise called Secret of Mana 2 in your so called oldschool circles. I don't call it Secret of Mana 2 either... Opt to call it Seiken Densetsu 3. Some of those oldschool circles can't prononuce it properly and there are those that can, you see...

The Snes version of the game is released as collectiion of mana games on Nintendo switch. There is significant change to the mechanics to Trials of Mana Remake. Combat happens on real time, on snes version there is a delay timer between your attacks, so you can't just spam attacks. You can probably chain your attacks on the remake. There is a strong and weak attack. You can jump or do a dodge roll. None of those existed on original Snes version. If you tell me, there will be no change to the mechanics, you are freaking bullshitting. What we know about the game is very limited, I wouldn't be surprised if there are more changes.

People who don't know the difference between remastered, remakes, reboot aren't worth their salt. Don't mix them up!

Oh but it is. Nobody said: Hey today i played xcom terror from the deep. You just playing the xcom 2 or the second xcom. But after the commercial failure of xcom 3 (apocalypse for those people that thought this was not a thing) nobody paid any attention to the followups. And why do you tell things I neither asked nor have anything to do with the topic? Wanna look important?

Combat always happened on realtime wtf. A small timer is also always part of the package. Visual animation etc. Actually hitting and movement takes time... And you could of course chain attacks (which killed you quite fast on bossfights :/ ) Also each character had a strong and weaker attack. Good to know you never played the game.

Back when i read the news nothing substantial was known so I thought the PC SD3 would be like the FF or SoM remakes on steam. Meaning new sprites, new resolution, higher quality in music but no actual change in gameplay, viewpoint or any game mechanics, just bugfixes(and strangely trainers...) Square didn't do anything for the other games so why now? But it seems the are making a full 3D game with third person viewpoint out of it.

It is a set of works that are connected, MicroProse did not serialize it. Some games are simply not serialized. It is something you did.

Using words such as Cute and childish are such "Low Effort Posting".

You are so adorable, full of juvenile charm.

It is important back in the days of fan translation where people called it different names. It decide the name that appear on the screen. One version has the word "Seiken Densetsu 3" on the title screen and another version have "Secret of Mana 2". Since you didn't call it SOM2, I know which version you are probably playing. The schism is between more original text or more localized text. Localization & Translation Are Not The Same.

No. Not really. Seiken Densetsu 3 has time stop mechanics. Square Enix seem to want to move away from more sluggish gameplay to more actiony gameplay. Snes version has normal attack and TECH attack. Duran is using weak attack that can be chain into triple slashing attack, a charged strong attack and Time stop Animation Tech attack in the remake. Go watch the Trial of Mana remake gameplay demo.

How do you know I never played the game? My good man, I am sure you know that better than I do.

Did you watch FF7 remake gameplay demo? Lots of actiony gameplay right there. It is a remake, remakes can have many changes to the game.

I would like to see remastered games of my youth

Might and Magic VI: Mandate of heaven,
Might and Magic VII: For blood and honor,
Might and Magic VIII: Day of the destroyer,
Jagged Alliance 2,
Little Big Adventure 2,
Normality,
Diablo II,
Fallout I,
Fallout II,
Desperados,
Fallout Tactics,
SUPAPLEX,
Arcanum,
Far Cry,
Half Life,

Damn, these were really good and fun.
