[Solved - Not a bug] "Solve the Trials of Ascendancy" but there is no Trial in the whole map

Hey,
I've just completed the "Grotto" map and it had the quest "Solve the Trials of Ascendancy" but there was no entrance to the Trials of Ascendancy. I've cleared the whole map and killed all monsters, then I ran around the whole map again to search for the entrance to the trials, but there was none. This must be a bug, sadly. :(
I'M 100% certain, that I checked every bit of the map.

For me, it just sits there even I'm back in my hideout or town.

I actually bought some Trial prophecies now to get it over with. Worked fine on one map, then on map Relic Chambers again no trial even though I had the quest. Retracked the whole map again to make sure, there was no trial!

This is just a general quest (independent of the current map): The Lord's Labyrinth.

You can check at the entrance of the labyrinth (in Act 3 or 8) which trials are missing.

For the "Eternal Labyrinth" the trials are just random in end-game maps whether they appear (and what kind).

Yeah, I'm doing maps...but shouldn't the quest only pop up in maps when there is a trial? Like the niko, jun, ... master quests?

As far as I can tell the quest always shows, whether or not there's a trial in the map you're running. Kind of like how every time I go to A6 Lioneye's Watch I see a reminder for the Bestel quest I never did.

This is correct, this quest will display in relevant areas (where you can find trials) whether or not there is a trial. Finding a trial is very common, you just have to be patient.
Also if you enter a zone where there is an incomplete trial (it means finding the portal to the trial and entering it), it will display "Solve the trial of ascendancy in this area", which is good to know :).
