This is a hat the male Yangban 양반 would wear during the Joseon 조선 era. From what I remember they were Confucius scholars whom were chosen to work in government positions and also druggies and useless after they became part of this social class system. Also IIRC they willfully allowed the Japanese to occupy Korea. Bunch of parasites like in todays world of politics.

Unsure why they didnt want to represent Korea with King Sejong 세종 whom might be the best leader Korea had.

But it says Koren named after the inventor not Korean and has nothing to do with Korean culture, so there must be another one.

It is a traditional hat worn by men along with a hanbok during the Joseon period. It is called "gat" in Korean.

Okay, I know I'm usually Gruentod Grumpypants, but this hat definitely makes me happy in my pants. I logged on here to see how much it was, and discovering it's going to be free made me giddy as a schoolgirl.
