Balance in Path of Exile: Legion

Everybody here complaining when you don't know the exact numbers.
Even though everything mentioned deserved getting toned down.

I think it won't be the RIP numbers people seem to think. I remember clearing uber elder with storm brand on like a 10 chaos build. Now I may have to invest and think about the build a little more... oh no!

I think he has a good point, and I can see where you and he are coming from. What I see is, he's definitely a league player, meaning he doesn't play standard often, if not at all. And if that's the case, it means he doesn't really care when things are transferred back to standard, and so he won't touch the characters he has built probably ever again, so nerfing/buffing things obviously doesn't matter to him and most other similar players (unless some want to test some builds in standard).

As of your point of view, you also have a point, like many others - the fact that casters are at huge disadvantage this league and I agree that warlord, elementalist and some ES crafting methods are downed is pretty overkill tbh. And I am well aware, that even with investments, it does not just seconds or little struggle to kill endgame bosses like Uber elder and deep depth delve (of course it depends on your budget, and the skills you choose for that matter). Only that things will be much more offside that playing caster will be A LOT more difficult this league.

Depends on you tho, if you have never played melee, or certain ascendancies like Jugg, Berserker, it's golden time for you to try these things out. The only thing left that sucks is when you want to revisit your old builds in standard, or if you're a player chilling in standard. I figure you might be a player who is both active in league and standard, and it appears to me that GGG doesn't really incentivize playing standard at all. In this regard I think he was being pretty harsh about it, but it's not that uncommon - there's a reason why most people play league when it's out.

I like the Rebalances for Melee, especially the slower and faster skills, but every change to it seems like a good one.

Winter Orb needs a big nerf. I don't even know if this will be enough. It needs to have less clearspeed and about half the damage it currently does. Storm Brand and Bane don't need damage reductions, but less AoE and maybe nerfing Brand Recall. I hope they don't nerf the damage of Soulrend and instead nerf the debuff duration, so you can compensate this with Skill Effect Duration.
I did not understand the purpose of Mana Flasks and Mana Nodes on the treem except for them to be defense through MoM or the Guardian Ascendancy. I actually hope, that they remove Mana Gained on Hit from Jewels too, so Attacker have to invest 3 Points to get it from the skill tree.

I agree with all Ascendancy nerfs except removing proliferation from Elementalist. I never heard any of my friends say that they get lags, because of it since the improvements a few years ago.

Blood Magic was never meant for stacking auras and it basically got a buff for people using it the way it was meant to be. You can use a Essence Worm Amulet to cast Heralds or whatever for free, but propably not an additional Aura (sad).

Including the power nodes behind Keystones gave to the Keystone itself would be nice, but I guess in the case of Mind over Matter they'll just remove them, making it as bad as it was before adding these.

The only change I really dislike is making Headhunter and Eternity Shroud harder to obtain. You could nerf these items instead. For example you could remove the explicit Life, Dexterity and Strength from Headhunter and the value of Elemental as Extra Chaos Damage from Eternity Shroud to 3%.

Well than, the ES nerv means: Welcome back "Path of Oneshots". Execpt the top players.

I dont think that it is always a good idea for the majority of players, when you try to balance the game around the top 5% of players. But we will see. They find ways. :)

i love it all the meta build players mad again. these players should probly be playing d3 instead where all have the same builds. maybe try build/design something yourself for once and youl be supriced how manny strong builds there stil are. meta is just borring. for me the most funn part of POE is that (broken) stuff getts nerfed and unused stuff getts buffed. great work again GGG
I don't get all the whining. The nerfs make sense. I've been wanting to play melee again for a long time, but ultimately, my goal was to kill uber elder and ES - Curses - Chaos was buffed so high, this was the league to try the occultist. I easily could have gotten 15k ES with more investment and Bane was too powerful. I easily killed uber elder over 30 times this league, while I never could do it with any other character. An average player like me shouldn't be able to kill the biggest boss in the game so easily deathless on a loop. Now I can finally play melee, try berserker for the first time (the only ascendency I've never tried) and have a go at the uber elder.

Keep up the good work GGG. Don't listen to all the hate.

i was planning to play pathfinder+necro dancing duo build, problem is it heavily relies on abyss jewels stacking, i mean more than a half of the damage comes from them. and its nothing like abusing something, because the damage may be like 700k dps at best gear and jewels (expensive). really i hope developers are going to buff the numbers on the sword because with these changes to jewels this build cant be viable. not to mention that its not clear how the new multistrike will interact with dd. so, cant say im pleased with this changes, i mean everyone abused elemental added damage on those jewels but i cant reacall who would abuse physical damage, maybe because noone was playing melee. so i will wait till the next day patch notes and, if everything will be bad, spectres are still extremely strong option so i'll go for them then.
