EU Latency/Connectivity Issues [Deutsche Telekom/1&1]

Same Problem as everybody else. I tried Frankfurt, London and Amsterdam, didn't make a difference at all.

If I used WinMTR right, these are the results:

I live in Germany so the Frankfurt PoE server should work fine, but it doesn't. It often shows as as a dash (-) or three dots (...) in the login screen where I can choose gateways. And when I play on it the lag is terrible.
The only 2 servers I can usually lag-free play on are Milan and Paris. But as of this evening these lag aswell (edit: Milan and Paris are fine again).

I'm pretty sure the routing through the Frankfurt hub is at fault. My ISP is Deutsche Telekom. Not sure if my ISP or GGG can solve this. But maybe GGG can contact the ISP or check the Frankfurt hub?

Same issue here on every servers.

I usually have lags (due to bad wi-fi), but my freezes are usually freezing everything for a couple seconds (and then, the game catches up).

The freezes I get since Synthesis (usually right after 7PM UTC+1, and lasting for 2-3 hours) are real lags, 1-2 seconds delay between ONLY MY actions, but the mobs are still moving and taking damage (and dying too), which never happened to me on Lockstep setting.

here's a Paris MTR : https://pastebin.com/JiWybmJx

Little update, I've decided to play on Moscow servers to see if 30 more ms latency would be a pain (spoilers, kind of ;_;), it's worth to note that I have absolutly NO lags spikes on this server.

I do not know if it would help or not, but in doubt, here's a MTR on moscow servers

https://pastebin.com/NRqAbJYF

An other note to add that some of my friends are not affected at all by these lags. (ISPs again ?)

EDIT : Fixed it self on Paris server at exactly 11PM (UTC+1), it is now workign flawlessly.

It looks like you have some issue with either your router or ISP (heavy packet loss from the 1-2nd hop.

I'm investigating the other reports. Thanks for the details.

Lags are gone for about 1 hour now.
Had no problems in other games with PL at that time (where PoE lagged for me). Could stream netflix and play FPS games with 20-40ms. (playing PoE with 10% PL is pretty pointless^^). I'm confused why this is only happening in PoE...
WinMTR shows 0% now just like yesterday evening.

It seems to affect germans only... My ISP is Vodafone, so it doesnt look like a provider issue, since alot of different providers all over GER seem to have this problem.

dont think it the problem of any user router, isp and so on.... but more on ggg side to solve?

The specific person quoted has an issue related to their setup/isp.

The others I am investigating are problems with connectivity which GGG doesen't specifically control, but we will ask our servers hosts to see if they can do anything.

The first WinMTR you posted showed a problem that was definitively your ISP. The ones you posted now look good/problem free.
same .
last night was ok
today its not :< plz fix !
It really seems to be a kind of German problem, I have been talking to a few friends that also play and the three that answered my question so far also have the same problem. All from Western or Southern Germany if that helps.

Alhtough I am in the north, so make of that what you will.
I am one of the unlucky people affected as well (since I started playing again after a few weeks of a break on Friday).
Deutsche Telekom customer (vDSL) 20km from Frankfurst

The servers that caused issues today are:
Amsterdam GW:
2019/03/12 14:17:32 [INFO Client 8852] Connecting to instance server at 74.116.3.182:6112
2019/03/12 14:48:19 [INFO Client 8852] Connecting to instance server at 74.116.3.202:6112
2019/03/12 20:32:40 [INFO Client 2264] Connecting to instance server at 74.116.3.233:6112
2019/03/12 20:34:38 [INFO Client 2264] Connecting to instance server at 74.119.145.17:6112
Frankfurt GW:
2019/03/12 21:30:59 [INFO Client 2264] Connecting to instance server at 74.119.145.17:6112
2019/03/12 21:32:36 [INFO Client 2264] Connecting to instance server at 199.116.116.244:6112
2019/03/12 22:57:34 [INFO Client 2264] Connecting to instance server at 74.116.3.232:6112

There's no packet loss when doing traceroute to any of them. While most of them should be overseas there's also one from a German provider inbetween. Though the 199.116.116.244 had a lot less severe lags (10ms spikes to 40ms, compared to 40ms with spikes to 1800ms).

When I had the issues while leveling it wasn't much of a problem, I'd just ctrl-click and open a new instance which usually immediately remedied the issue (and got me to a different server). Now that I am starting to run maps it becomes exceedingly frustrating when I have to stop running a map because the lag is too severe.

Random fun fact:
When I use fra.login.pathofexile.com or the speedtest link in pingplotter it uses the ipv6 address of the server instead of the IPv4 address that MTR would use.

The login server addresses don't actually point directly to our servers, so there's no point in collecting data from those.
