Synthesis Gem Information
I don't really see onslaught and mana leech off the top of my head though i realize like a shitton of gems got minor changes and probably didn't all make it into the list either but those two support gems I personally wanted to see.
Spoiler
Brands = a tough subject they are now just exceptionally bad single target without the keystone and still better than most with it, and the moment theres more sources of 1 brand attach to enemy it becomes better than 95% of other skill again (lvl 20 gems: brand is now down to 518/450 per brand compared to fair skills like fireball, freeze pulse that had ~1.5k dps prior now at ~ 1.8k dps). Keystone needs more balance. Totems have had significant downsides prior like costing tons of mana, eating supports + significant damage redux (less speed), totems die easily in tough fights since they sit still, cost lots of mana (2.5x multiplier?)
Also it is really funny putting freeze mine and freezing pulse side to side. Freeze mine freeze for (181+271)/2*4.9 ~ 1107 effective freeze damage while freezing pulse freeze for (888+1332)/2 ~ 1110 damage LUL Freezing pulse even on raw per hit freezes for longer than freeze mine nice. And we can for sure it hits at a faster frequency than clunky mine detonate that doesn't even stack freeze duration if you place like 8 in 1 spot |

Wave of Conviction + Spell totem is better clean speed Arc + Spell Totem?
Damage insane, physical 972~1459, Critical 6%, Cast Time 0.7 and added 160%. Theoretically, Critical 65% or more, 2 weapon extra damage, maybe damage per Totem 400k~600k... |

how do you tell if a skill was buffed or nerfed if they dont show the old one to compare?

" I think the pure damage of the Soulrend DoT will be higher than ED with comparable setup in any case. Else we would have no reason to use it for even that. The problem is that you have too much utility with ED. Contagion spreads it. Take Zealoth's Oath and you have ES "leech" without hitting the enemies because it counts as regen. And then you have the massive dot that you can throw into the mix with Bane. Which I hope interacts with its own Despair, but you probably have to double cast it for that. I did some quick math (which is probably wrong) that puts me at quite a bit of ES leech for Soulrend when hitting 50 targets and using GMP, LMP, Void Manip 20% Quali and Efficacy as supports. I took the high end for all of them and reached a total of ~3.6 k. It's questionable how well you will be able to pull that off since density might not allow it, but in combination with Bane and its own DoT, things might not look too shabby. But ED still has the quality of life over it. Edit: Forgot Controlled Destruction existed for a second, so that number is more realistic/maybe higher. Also Leech mechanics. Wait... so bane with two curses is more powerful than either soulrend or essence drain? And you apply curses? Jesus... I know what I am playing

Evrything good but.. Humm lets discuss about energy leech support for a second... Life leech support 10% increased dmg while leeching with quality, and energy leech gets like 30% MORE multiplier built in lol.. No way its not too much

" Because we read patch notes that were posted yesterday? |

" Why switch for one of those other skills when you can stack both? But actually I'm surprised too, given how amazing the supports you can put on it are--3 curses at 47% more each then Efficacy and Controlled Destruction at 45% more each... why not? Though then again, the supports for other chaos DoT spells are also extremely strong and give over 40% more each anyhow. But yeah it's absolutely viable for clear, and just chuck some other chaos DoT on bosses to complement it and run around like an idiot until they die. On another note, sad that Unleash support doesn't scale with cast speed in any way. With the cast speed in the build I'm planning (which isn't even specced for very much) and assuming Unleash continues to generate seals even while you cast, it works out to about 20% more casts than you'd get when standing still and holding the spell button (with a damage penalty) versus Spell Echo's 70% more cast speed (with a different damage penalty). I guess if you're moving after every cast it would pull up around even? I'll still probably give it a try (easy to swap gems anyhow) but it seems a little underwhelming to me. EDIT: Whoops I did my math wrong on Unleash--I guess I'd actually get 40% more casts rather than 20% more cases if Unleash works in the way I'm imagining it does. That doesn't look too bad with the extra burst potential. Maybe. Last edited by dummyacct7#0565 on Mar 6, 2019, 9:44:26 PM
