i was having the same issue (settings not saving and minimap resetting) with documents folders redirected off my SSD. I recently added another HDD and in the process i restructured my drive letters. I had my documents redirected to my F: previously but changed that drive letter to D:
even tho i thought i moved the "My Documents" folder properly i was seeing the ghost folder showing up in the POE install directory (same problem was happening with Civ 5 but that game handles it better and created a proper game save folder in it's directory) so i tried restoring the default libraries, deleting and recreating them and moving them again with nothing helping Finally I checked the registry and sure enough under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders my documents was still trying to redirect to F: (which i relabeled so it did not exist) After a quick fix and a reboot it fixed all my problems. the settings and minimap persist now Not sure if this info will help anyone else as network storage it probably handled diferent |

So I'm assuming there's still no 'permanent fix' for this, which they had been working on for almost a year now supposedly, is there?

Having the issue too; another bump for justice (and a fix!)

Same problem here.

Any update to this problem?
I would prefer a command line option so that we could tell the game the path where settings should be saved/loaded from. |

I`ve got the same problems. Is there no resolution?

I've been getting this issue. I have a junction in "c:\users\x" which points at "e:\x", which contains all of my documents so that I won't lose anything in the event that I want to blow away c:\ and reinstall windows. I'm running windows 10, and none of the previous instructions in this thread seem to quite fit, but it's pretty annoying as every time I start Path of Exile it starts in windowed mode, and I want it to start fullscreen.
If I navigate to the "My Games\Path of Exile" folder within the documents folder and click in the title bar to get the address windows just shows the address as "C:\Users\x\Documents\My Games\Path of Exile" even though the object is actually on e:\, which is the way that the junction works. Windows doesn't even see the difference. The Production_Config file is there along with my item filter and so on, I know that Path of Exile sees them because it can apply my item filter and items are filtered correctly. And yet my game settings aren't being saved when I change them and I get a windowed screen every time I start Path of Exile. My PoE folder at "C:\Program Files (x86)\Grinding Gear Games\Path of Exile" doesn't contain any subfolders at all that look like a reference to my documents folder or anything. {edit} It seems I have been able to fix the problem by removing my production_Config file and allowing PoE to generate a new one. {/edit} {edit} Actually, it seems that the settings are being saved and everything is running fine, but if I'm running in the DX11 beta it starts in windowed mode no matter what I do, but it's fine to start full screen in DX9. {/edit} Last edited by HoneyBadGerMan#6197 on Jun 26, 2017, 5:24:54 AM
