Melee and support gems
I've been using the Elemental Hit that way most of the game. I just replaced it with Glaciar Hammer because it costs less mana and does more damage at this time, but of course, the Elemental Hit can add different types of damage and the Glaciar Hammer only cold, but it's deadlier. Also, the OP's idea is not bad. We need more support gems, especially for melee characters.

I can't edit my post for some reason, it says "The resource you are looking for does not exist or has been been removed" and I forgot to ask something as it's related to support gems. If I have an item with 3 linked sockets and I want to put 2 support gems, do both have to be linked to the skill gem or can I link one to the other which is also linked to the skill gem? I hope I made myself clear, I don't know how to explain it better.

" As opposed to them using a physical attack? Most (good) spellcasters at the moment juggle lots of spells. I understand what you are saying, but I have never seen a game in this genre where eventually melee users' primary skill is still his physical attack. Usually a "spell" of some kind takes over this, be it zeal or whirlwind or something that just plain hits harder. I think this is an issue that will resolve itself with more content in the game. Edit: To the poster above me, it is my knowledge that they do not have to be adjacent, just linked. Last edited by Gea#5025 on Aug 14, 2011, 1:47:33 PM

The skill gem doesnt need to be adjacent to a mod gem in order for you to gain the effect. So, if you had a six slot linked item, you can have 1 skill gem and 5 mod gems attached to it, assuming the mod gem effects the skill in question, multiple projectiles does nothing for leap slam :).
