League Starter Builds for Synthesis

Yep - for levelling and mapping it's really going to make little difference if it takes an extra tick or two for stuff to die, the strength is not needing to stop moving ever except to cast traps on bosses.
I'll probably do something like divine ire trickster. I am a sucker for channeling skills, even if standing still tends not to be the best for mapping. My thoughts on ascendency.

1) Swift killer is a no brainer for easy charges. The change to charge generation with channeling skills is nice too.

2) Harness the Void is a pretty substantial damage bump, particularly for skills that involve conversion like divine ire. The bonus from harness gets applied on each step of the conversion. Chances are good I'll just slot in a physical to lightning gem for full elemental conversion.

3) I'll probably try out ghost dance and escape artist for defense. It is going to feel weird playing trickster without weave the arcane and patient reaper though. Still, the reworked nodes add some interesting bonuses.

I feel like it is still going to be a life and dodge build, but with enough energy shield to act as a ping-ponging buffer when you consume a ghost shroud. I probably won't MoM, as trying to scale life, mana, evasion and energy shield is a bit much. Plus I won't have patient reaper. I figure most of the mana will be reserved on delicious auras, and I'll operate with the sliver that remains. A quick stab at the tree might look something like this.

Plus if divine ire sucks, I can probably turn it into an EK nova build. Failing that, vaal fireball combust.

As someone new to the game (had few days of play last season), melee & crusader-type fan, probably going for a Templar smite or cyclone with some summons, hoping to push as far end-game as possible as a new
If your going to go smite templar i can give you a build i found on the forum for the Templar that's a "lazy Paladin", where he's geared and has his passive tree set for block chance. Only thing is it's from 3.5 Betrayal league.

Cheers, the lazy pally does seem interesting. Actually I was hoping to go with x and transition later to mjölnir build, but it's not looking too good for the mjölnir builds due to arc nerf :/

I am remain faithful to melee build. Hence another vaal double strike league for me. Champion, cold covert, frostbreath, with tiny little bleed.
If I go first, I'll wait for you in the other side of the dark water.

With the patch notes out, i'm going to try a Chieftain EK for league starter.

Been wanting to play EK again ever since my first ever character in POE. Mind sharing how do you build around chieftain? As last I played, was as an Ascendant, but that wasn't really successful.

Don't see much EK builds nowadays too =(
