Oh boy, let's get this down in writing...

Crit with 5% base chance is nothing strange or wrong with, since hatred roll on watcher's give you up to 1.8% extra chance and the 100% extra damage against burning targets(effective 200% inc. damage since dual weapons) on razors give you all the base damage you need, then you can afford to hunt for crit in the passivetree instead of %inc. damage and the output is gonna be insane.

My build ends up above 80% crit and oblitering content, while still using "only" a 5% base crit weapon.

Did the math with higher crit weapons and tried to accumulate the same damage. Nothing was near the QoL and constant damage output from Razers against map content as well as shaper.

Oni-goroshi for example is about 800dps weapon with 2 downsides, the degen taken with firedamage that will force you to leech or regen out the degen, resulting in lower actual life leeched / sec.
And the fact that half damage from weapon is fire, and half physical. You will need to invest into conversion to get best dps out of this.

Razor's are about (when dualwielding them) 950dps weapons, but has lower base crit, but no real downsides you have to overcome, resulting in an easier time to get up the missing crit.

Feel free to constructively feedback what exactly you think is better or worse, and elevate the build instead of racking down ;)

Never played that far, but i don't see why not. Good life leech with leech+ weapon leeches (total = 60% of total life leeched / sec) and decent life.
Try the tougher version for a guaranteed win =)
