Is it possible to play this on a witch for more energy shield/spell damage nodes?

What would I be giving up aside from the jewel sockets?

You'll be giving up on crit. I don't think its a good idea. You'll lose out of damage cause of lesser discharge procs.

If you want to play this with cospri's, Ascendant and Assassin are the only options. You can play this with any class, using a high base crit crafted rare weapon, but you will lose out on the 2 extra discharges from each cospri.

What is the point of dual-wielding two Cospris with discharge gems?
When two same gems are socketed in two cospris they share cooldown. Also cyclone alternates weapons between attacks, so you don't get anything from dual-wielding other that 10% more attack speed.

A good alternative is to socket an Ice Spear with GMP in one of your Cospris, which would hit even a single target 6 times when triggered, giving you a lot of charges.
I use a single discharge gem in my CoC setup and an Ice Spear in a Cospri.
This means I have only one Discharge triggering each hit, but it is almost guaranteed to be at max charges.
Do not exactly know if it is better or worse than 2 Discharge gems and no Ice Spears. Need to factor in a lot of probabilities.

I made some changes, sorry it took a while. I don't think maintaining charges is the issue tbh so I don't think I'm gonna go for the Ice spear. I'd rather have consistent leech.

I'm sorry I don't really have a levelling guide. I levelled this as an Ele hit character and later switched to this build but that's not really a good strategy.

As a scion you're most likely going to switch your starting position to one of the other 6 starting points and lose the points near scion start in most cases, so before you get those ascendancy points, path from the scion. After merciless lab when you can choose a different starting position, respect the travel points you used initially. You should be able to use spells to level.

I have quick question why not use cast on channeling now that cyclone is a channeling skill i am going to run this build but i was thinking of subbing out cast on crit for cast while channeling

Because this is a CoC build. You can do CwC with cyclone but that will be a whole different build. Completely different tree, gear, ascendancy.
