[3.6] The Blizz Sorc - Icestorm/Winter Orb CI Occultist - Viable For Everything
" If you're using cyclone I highly recommend using the Champion ascendancy. Free Fortify, Movement speed and enemies take increased damage. On a side note I also use Vortex+Bonechill+Arcane Surge for the buffs and I never have to stop spinning :) Last edited by Gryphenprey#0653 on Jun 11, 2019, 10:30:54 PM

Recorded a vid of the Ascendant build using Cyclone instead of Winter Orb: https://youtu.be/l1vclBCHQLg

Hi all
So inq+ocult best ascendant? |
|
" Maybe, but if we compare our present choice variants with previous league choice variants (Occultist was clearly a winner there) this league there is no straight winner, all three variants: Witch(Occultist), Scion(Inquistor/Occultist) and Scion(Inquisitor/Elemetalist) are decent choices, the differences between them are low, it all comes to play style and pure choice! I am using myself Inquisitor/Occultist combo of ascendancies and i have to say that until now it feels decent defensive wise (i was afraid that loosing so much base ES and immunity to Chill/Freeze from previous Occultist build collaborated with the Immortal Call-Blood Rage RIP will cause trouble to tankiness of this build but till now it does good against big hitters like Legion rare mobs and Syndicate stuff. Level 89 atm, going slow cause my little baby girl (1.5 years) takes it's time toll :), and i can only play like few hours every night after she goes to sleep but i am happy with the values i managed to pull up to now: Intelligence: 2051 I didn't focused in going full conversion jewel socket-ing, if would do that probably value will be higher, but it does not help too much with DPS nor increase ES by some big values at this moment of time, with end game gear is another discussion though. ES: 9465 Shaper Average hit: 25.400(a decent value for the start of the league) Running T10 maps right now with no issues at all, will go into red maps today probably, i am building the Atlas map by map as usually The only issue i have is with clearing Legion encounters, i feel my clearing DPS is not as great as it should be(still running on 4-link WO , need to get mana lab enchant before going 5 link WO) and the gems are still level 19 but the nerf to Winter Orb is noticeable when it comes to clear speed. I am planning to start to re-use Blood Rage in a CWDT setup just for those 3xFrenzy Charges (12% more damage) when clearing maps and will switch it to Faster Attack linked to Vigilant Strike when going on bosses (Vigilant strike is kinda un-usable at this moment due to nerf of Attack speed base of it and this is not good because in end game we really need that Fortify buff in some fights). 4% ES degen of Blood Rage due to physical DOT is no issue at all since we have already 3.5% ES regen to counter balance + up to 8% more when stand still(upgraded Tukohama pantheon) and on Consecrated Ground(Inquistor Ascendancy or Sulphur Flask) For single target damage is better then Occultist last league at the same level (89) and that because of Scion being a more offensive choice than Witch(Occultist) Last edited by lilianmarius#0775 on Jun 12, 2019, 6:54:28 AM

" If you're planning for Winter Orb as the Channeling skill, then 100% this. If you're like me and want to use Cyclone I would recommend Champion+Inquisitor Champion gives 100% uptime on Fortify with no gimmicks (vigilant strike, I'm looking at you!) whilst still providing a 10% damage multiplier (Taunted Enemies take 10% increased damage, 25% to taunt) 8% Movespeed is also nice with Cyclone. Also Cyclone provides stun immunity while active. I am personally playing with Champion+Pathfinder. I will eventually switch away from PF if I feel that content gets a bit harder; for now I like the flask sustain and 10% movement speed. And again, it still provides some DPS for us with 6% ele pen. Here's a video of me running a T9 UGS: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XxMF9RIGkW8&feature=youtu.be Edit: For some reason the video has no sound. Lol End note: even if you dislike CWC Cyclone for endgame, it does make the leveling process fairly quick. Last edited by Gryphenprey#0653 on Jun 12, 2019, 7:04:18 AM

" I'm at a pretty similar stage to lilian, level 91 now, working on T14s. No small child. I'm going my own way though, concentrating on int and not getting ANY es from the tree by endgame. 2,310 int 8,522 ES 38k single target hit (still at 18s) 10k cascade (20s) I'm working on getting 2nd WI coloured, as one of mine is 17% at the moment. After that, 5L for the cascade staff, then I guess 5L for chest to take advantage of dual-curse. Agree re vigilant strike. I'm pretty tempted to drop cwdt and manually cast chaos golem, then I have space for flame dash - faster casting, vigilant strike - faster attacks, and vaal righteous fire. At the moment, I'm missing the last of those. We don't need ZO if going occultist. We have 1.5% ES regen from the ascendancy, and we have Sorrow of the Divine to activate consecrated ground + ZO when we're fighting something tough. I quoted the above because it's a case where going ZO is useful, but I'm not convinced it's worth the three passive nodes & potentially two gem slots. My problem with legion is less about DPS and more about it being fairly dangerous. I've just switched from frostbite to enfeeble for that reason. My main tip so far: precast on the obelisk, dash outside twice, then look around the outside for chests/uniques and concentrate on those. As soon as anyone fires red stuff at you, go hunt them down regardless of what else you're doing: the red swirly-wall-thing is super dangerous. " There is enough space for Blood Rage gem in this setup : 4L- CWDT-Blood Rage-Vigilant Strike(you can trigger it manually even if it's in CWDT setup)-Summon Chaos Golem When clearing trash, Blood Rage lv1(quality to 20 to get increased global attack speed) give constant Frenzy charges which mean increased global attack speed (12%), increased cast speed (12%), more damage (12%) so no need of Faster Attack linked to Vigilant Strike. When fighting bosses assuming you cant get generate Frenzy charges, just switch Blood Rage with Faster Attack. This way you can hit way faster with Vigilant Strike. The other gems setups i use: 4L -Flame Dash - Faster Casting - Frost Bomb - Arcane Surge(lv 6) 2L - Arctic Armour- Bonechill + un-linked Herald Of Ice and Vaal RF In chest 5L - CWDT-CurseOnHit-Ball Lightning-Frostbite-Enfeeble + un-linked Vaal Discipline Regarding Zealot's Oath i never tend to rely on flasks (i don't like timing their usage and my keyboard is not a piano) so that's why i chosed to get it in in the tree, also i think there are other flasks more useful than The Sorrow of The Divine (The Wise Oak, Atziri's Promise, Sulphur Flask of Warding/Staunching etc.) but this is just a choice, you can use that flask and un-spec Zealoth's Oath from tree if you want. Ah yes, blood rage is equivalent to faster attacks if we're keeping cwdt. The difference in what we're planning is that I'm still thinking of blind in the chest, rather than 5L + one off-slot.
Manual casting chaos golem seems a bit of a pain. |

Is trickster still viable for this? What make scion better? Higher potential intellect?

" From what I know none of the top players of this specific WI build played Trickster in the previous 4-5 leagues. Kelvynn never recommended his build to be played with Trickster ascendancy class. What is so good at that Ascendancy that make it feasible with this build? Last edited by lilianmarius#0775 on Jun 12, 2019, 11:23:44 AM
