Synthesise 3x t1 int and get lucky?

Strand for me.

Ouch. That's a really bad option. Strand was meta until it was nerfed 2 years ago. But now it's a ghost zone. Monster density there is the lowest of all maps in the game.

If you like that type of maps, at least go with Beach. Strand is just terrible.

Lol, well I didn't know how to get the shaper orb until last league so that explains why I don't know what I'm doing. Looks like an unshaping orb is in order. :D

Talisman update:

Ok so I did some testing. In order to keep my stats up after swapping out Astramentis I had to remove the Breath of Rime and Divine Judgement clusters.

This gave me the 8 points I needed to add Trickery, Expertise and Ancestral Knowledge. Also added Alacrity and swapped out two Brute Force Solutions for two Fertile Minds. Also had to swap out one jewel to add a little strength.

Here is what happened:

Original stats at Lv 95 with Astramentis:

Clear Staff: 4537 DPS
Boss Staff: 11506 DPS

Mana: 1931
Int: 2159
Str: 122
Dex: 120
ES: 11777

New Tree at Lv 95 with Talisman:

Clear Staff: 4553 DPS
Boss Staff: 11554 DPS

Mana: 2018
Int: 2367
Str: 120
Dex: 113
ES: 12719

So the only real bonus here is almost 1000 ES with a bit more recharge and mana regen. I had to give up 6% elem pen and a lot of chill and freeze effects. Tried out a Tier 11 map and noticed the lack of chill and freeze making mobs a bit faster but wasn't too bad. I'm 85% to Lv 96 so getting another level would allow me to pick up Cold Damage, Freeze and Chill Duration which would give me some of that enemy slowdown back.

I'm going to run a few more maps to see how this feels. I don't like giving up the freeze, chill and elem pen but having another 1000 ES is pretty nice. I doubt I'm going to make it past Lv 96 so if I keep these changes then I'll have to live with it.

Thoughts? Does this seem like too much to give up for 1,000 ES? Here is the talisman I'm using for reference:

Is that mouse-over DPS or PoB DPS (which I think shows average hit per icestorm shard)?

I'm maybe half those numbers. I have no clue how you guys are getting such crazy high int.

I'm level 78 on this char (with a few alterations like holy flame totem, phase run, and lightning warp) with around 1450 int, 10.2k ES (with pretty good gear). The DPS seems fine with these stats and I haven't died once since I switched to ES around level 62. I can do a T14 yellow corrupted map and stand in the middle of about 20-30 mobs hitting me and can walk away from keys if I want, and when I come back I'm still standing there at full ES. It's pretty insane how much better ES is than Life.

I imagine i'll pick up another 200 int from the tree (heading towards level 92-94'ish where I'll probably stop leveling) and an opal ring I'll put on at 80, but that'll put me around 1650-1700... MAYBE. Not sure i'm going to worry about trying to get more. No clue how some of you are hitting 2300+.

So...had to move on.

My opinion on the build is it's just too slow. I've played Whispering Ice before, I thought maybe this time would be different. Not really. You can dump 40 exalts or more into it and it's still slow. ( I know...I did just that. thank god it all resold). The tankyness doesn't make up for it as any number of other builds are tanky.

It's thematically really cool but I think Whispering Ice is just hopelessly dated at this point.

2300 intel is VERY best case scenario /top end. 1900 -2100 is what you'll reach if you're making real effort. I might have hit 2300 if I leveled past 95. Would need 98 I think, but it was all very expensive.

I used it on Crater this patch - pretty good map sustain. Even in Standard without the actual league mechanic i raised my pool of T16 from about 70 to more than 200. Unfortunately there is no good div card in this map.

Mouse over.

You're missing Int on some of your gear, most noticeably your chest which has none. Getting a 12% Int with 6% increased attributes will make it skyrocket. Same goes for an astramentis, belt and rings with the corrupted implicit. You can get decent ones for a few exalts...and decent rings can be considerably cheaper.

Just look at my tree and gear (and more importantly, lilians) and you can see what is needed. You can easily hit 2,000 on a budget - but the chest is where you can gain the most currently.

Hmm, I find the clear speed with Winter Orb to be very good. I use two Quicksilver flasks and can clear out maps in minutes. The last build I played that was this fast and tanky was my old Pathfinder CoC build but it didn't have anywhere near the same DPS.

I like that you can play this build on a budget, but if you want to go "gucci" then there's more room to grow at higher levels and with more expensive gear.

I'm at Lv 96 and am now at 2386 Int and could probably hit 2,400 with a few cheap gear tweaks. My most expensive piece of gear cost 5 exalts (Emperor's Wit) and most quite a bit less. My chest I self crafted. I just did my first no death shaper run and stood and laughed while I tanked his beam and also did the same to a memory boss who landed a hit that must have done 10-11,000 damage but at 12,700 ES I just absorbed it and leeched back to full almost instantly and then melted him deathless as well.

If that's not an impressive build, then I don't know what is.
I am love & hate for this game.

I got killed within less than 1 sec in a reflect map (missed my check). waste an hour of progress.

What the point of reflect at all? There is a reason, every other arpg don't have it now. Also, the XP loss at death is the wost BS design.

Sorry, has to rant. Finally, find time to get some gaming & now wasted an hour of my time.
