Balance Changes in Path of Exile: Betrayal
How does the stat stick nerf effect skills which explicitly only swing the mainhand weapon, such as consecrated path? Will you be completely prevented from using these skills in a dual wield configuration of any kind?

Stat Sticks
The use of "stat sticks" has been a feature of Path of Exile for a very long time. A stat stick is an off-hand weapon that is not valid to use with a skill you are using when dual wielding. You get all the benefits of the stats on the weapon, while not having any limitations it might have affecting the use of the skill. You can use a weapon that has the attack speed and/or damage you want for the skill, while the off-hand weapon provides excellent stats without its speed or base damage limiting you. This use started off as an interesting gameplay element to use as part of a build, but over many releases, as more powerful modifiers on unique and rare weapons have been added, the power of stat sticks cannot be ignored when planning builds and is stifling other choices including genuine dual-wielding. In 3.5.0 we are removing the ability to use stat sticks, through the following changes:

Now, dont get me wrong, i am all about bringing the most popular overpowered builds in line, but giving hierophant -1 totem, and compensating with 2 totems on summon is a giant spit in the face cosidering the base totem count is now 3... a first grader would figure out that 2+2 =/= 3

Really!? This is what they came up with? Spellcasters abusing the hell out of stat sticks and they get a free pass? Melee which is still burning garbage even with stat sticks gets nuked again? Players asked for number tweaks, players asked for limits to the amount of mods, players asked for balance. This is not balance this is heresy!!!
It would be easier if you just came out and said you can not solve "The Riddle of Melee." To the melee players who are still remaining: The only way they can fix this is with massive buffs (we are talking like 150% minimum. Plus a targeting rework) Still failing to solve "The Riddle of Melee" 4.0 HYPE!!!

The amount of stupidity on every patch notes / manifesto is unbelievable. Go play diablo immortal if you are baby raging 1 day before the patch notes. LUL

Now you take 20% extra damage instead of 10. This is a buff :)
That would be as smart as changing stat sticks for melee only. This change will go down history as one of the most clumsy and worts executed gamedesign change ever. I bet they also buffed poets pen. Oh and cold.dot meta. This one is yet another gem of uselessnes. Glavial cascade CAN abuse stat sticks. Other cold spells cannot..guess what is going to happen.. |
