Just to round the numbers I probably spent 3.5ex in crafting materials and ended up with T1 elemental damage as extra chaos damage and 76% critical strike chance to spells (technically a T1 roll with socketed gems supported by increased critical strikes but it's a worthless mod so it's T3.) I could've just multi-modded up to 69% critical strike chance to spells so I spent all that currency for nothing really when I could've taken the first T1 extra ele-->chaos roll I got and called it a day.

If you're going to craft it I would suggest just landing the T1 elemental damage as extra chaos and then multi-modding the rest unless you're REALLY pushing for a GG weapon or you love to roll the dice. If you're an economy expert you could stop whenever you land a different pair of T1 mods to sell the item I suppose.

Edit: I forgot imprints are magic only. You shouldn't overpay for a magic item when you're going to have a 2/3 chance of bricking. Paying for a T1 elemental damage as extra chaos roll on a 1 or 2 mod RARE with no junk affix is money well spent IMO.
