Shaper down. Great build. Would recommend.

Why should I use vaal arc ?
|
|
" Because you can use Vaal Arc in hard situations (Syndicate especially) to buff your Arc mines tremendously. It is as simple as that. |

T15 elder down. Shaper down. all deathless. now lvl 94. 157/159 completion. Would also very much recommend this build!! Better quickly though, as I can already feel the 3.6 nerf hammer hitting arc(-mines) hard.
Also just got my 6L (after T15 elder but before shaper) which makes arcmines just stupid. Everything melted already on a 5L. Lets go into a bit more detail: My gem setup is a bit different, but it is important to note that there many good setups here. I decided I don't need the freeze/shatter because I play softcore. Would definitely recommend a cold component to hardcore players or to new players that aren't used to dodging all the nasty on-death/corpse stuff. Also I decided to go with vaal grace and lvl21 arc instead of lvl20 vaal arc. That means I go full lightning: Arc (get lvl21 for ~40c, quality is irrelevant) + remote mine + trap and mine damage + lightning pen + controlled destruction (6L: + added lightning) Other good options are: elemental focus (if you don't trust the shocks), minefield (use before you get your +1 helmet). The crit supports are a bit weak but not by much. Best check Path of Building whats best for you. Overall I currently have 1.6 million shaper-dps (that includes 6L, arcane surge, power charges, wrath, flasks, but not yet shock or any other (de-)buffs like bear trap) which makes him pretty easy. Even if you get caught out by him once or twice and die, you will still beat him as the fight is so short. On a 5L it was still over 1 million shaper-dps. So yeah, really no need for a 6L here. Survivability is also fairly decent. I only died once from 93 to 94. But syndicate bosses are scary and I probably should invest in a bit of chaos resist. It is hard to upgrade at the moment though, since I currently have perfectly balanced resist for Wise Oak. Gear:
Spoiler
Edit: Some additional tips: 1. get 28 quality on your chest piece before you try to 6L! 2. there are many good crafting options available to us. essence crafting for the wand/shield/amulet, delve crafting for the belt/ring. Only invest currency here if you are fairly sure what you are doing (or if you don't mind wasting currency) Indeed, my belt, amulet, belt, and ring are all crafted that way! Partly by me, partly by others and only bought by me. Even my diamond flask was 'crafted' (alts+annul+mastercraft). Last edited by chochom#5320 on Dec 14, 2018, 10:57:13 PM

" how were you able to get 53%? im only at 38.6% and my items are pretty similar to yours? did u take extra crit nodes? |
|
" Hi, I am just wondering how do you manage to get higher crit? atm im sitting at 66% on PoB. Is it that enough or do I need higher crit chance? I'm assuming that is with flask up? I seem to also have 2 extra sockets are there any gems u would suggest I use as they are just sitting there. Also is there anything I can upgrade in terms of gear beside +1 mine helm? Thank you. also what is the flat base crit mod youre taking about for the helm? I cant seem to find it anywhere Thank you, apprecaite you taking ur time to help. Not OP, but:
" Basically, you are trading a small amount of extra damage for some speed and smoothness (mine arming speed). I would advise against it. Once you have you +1 helmet and take out minefield, it actually becomes a damage downgrade, as the additional mine has a higher impact. " 1. I am sitting at 65% effective crit chance (flask up and accounting for being lucky) and that is totally sufficient. This is with controlled destruction and without crit-gem. With crit-gem instead of controlled destruction, I would be at 92% but the average dps would still be lower by quite a bit. The only reason to go for such a high critchance would be that you want to shatter more consistently. Do you have the new crit-flask affix? (see my post above) 2. Clear Mind and Wrath Watchers Eye are of course great but expensive. On a smaller budget look mostly for %life, %mana, or crit multiplier on a normal jewel or +life, +mana, critmulti, or added lightning to spells on a abyssal jewel. 3. +1 helmet is huge. For defense, try to get flat mana on your gear. E.g., you should be able to just craft some on your helmet. Last edited by chochom#5320 on Dec 15, 2018, 7:04:40 AM
