Well, seeing as poe.trade use has fallen off by around 90% in the past 5 months, that does not really count anymore, does it? There is no reason anymore to use it over the official site. On the other hand, there are plenty of reasons to use the official site, because it does things much better.

One of the very first times I played through POE I used Summon Raging Spirits. I came over from another ARPG that was popular at the time that didn't have a strong summoner archtype. As a beginner, Summon Raging Spirits offered me a skill that would A) auto target, and B) allow me to safely look at monsters and loot around the screen as I learn what to pick up, what to stay away from, and observe various monster mechanics and layout minutia. Whenever I would play with friends, a problem would occur. They would ask me "What's your DPS?" when we would try to clear zones or play together.

Fast-forward a few leagues...

I read about this awesome, third party, single developer that had dedicated himself to making it so more calculate-able things would be...well...calculate-able in their program. Things that might otherwise trip up a new player or befuddle a veteran player could be clearly understood via this program: Path of Building (POB).

Since then I've POB to plan out builds, help others evaluate their own builds, and most importantly----had my fun of POE explained and expanded through the helpful tools provided in POB.

I really hope this hire goes well for all involved, and I hope that GGG continues to prosper and add to the awesome team that started out quite similarly to POB, a team of dedicated individuals with a goal.
