Yeah, you did it the wrong way. Will probably never happen with chromes. Do it with this version: https://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Crafting#.2B3_to_Level_Weapon_Crafting
at the bottom under "Cheap Off-Color Crafting". Worked like a charm for me.

so u mean break the 6L and make it with jewllers 1st then try to 6L it?
im so so so bad luck with 6L i spend like 3000 on my carcass jack and it didnt work

is there any other way to get 4B and not ruin the links?

Just put white sockets on it, did mine by playing the syndicate game. Several times the hideout has a bench that will put white sockets on it, if you get the right guy. I can't remember who. But i've also sold this out as a service. So you could just pay someone who does the service and they can put it on for you, isn't expensive. I did mine free was really satisfying to have accomplished that on my own.

I asked this question earlier, and the answer was to use a different skill until you can make it blue.

Mine was 3 Blue and 3 Green for the longest time. I just used Hypothermia Support instead of Minion Damage. That was what Hercanic recommended in one of the messages. I think he added that to the guide.

But eventually if you do like me, you could run the syndicate a few times, it's part of a challenge anyway. And you can easily put one or more white sockets on there and will solve all your concerns. But Hypothermia worked almost as well. You can use other things until you get the colours right. You don't have to spam chromes all day, although i'm sure you could get that to work eventually with enough rng.

This cheat sheet shows which guy does the white sockets https://i.redd.it/5labrnudkw421.png

PS: Just got two of these in one Syndicate Hideout http://prntscr.com/mdafmx just play Syndicate and you will get the white sockets easy

Good Luck Exile

So I am finally arriving at the "end game" with probably average gear. Regardless I plan on trying to sustain as high level maps as I can and farming them. I would like to know from the people playing this build what recommendations do you have for me with end game mapping? Thus far I simply take whatever map I get and make it RARE, I add a VAAL if its the first time so I can credit for the clear, and then I might add one of those MORNING/NOON pieces to the mix and off I go. Oh, I also add 4 chisels to it before I make it rare to increase it's quality. Thus far I simply play whatever map falls and I have not attempted to "shape" anything as I don't know how and some say not to bother.

My goal I guess is to clear all of them at some point. I get killed a fair amount as my life is only 4.5K with my gear on Xbox One and this is my first character ever and I am playing Betrayal.

Any advice/pointers would be great if simply playing all the red maps that drop with 4 chisels, RARE upgrade and VAAL only if first time is not the smartest way to get loot.

I am very happy to report that I got my first ever Exalted Orb drop when clearing a T-13 map last night! I was pretty PUMPED as I had never owned one before! Hopefully I can use this to buy an end game armor at some point but they are soooooooo expensive on Xbox its not even funny. A 6L Belly is almost unreachable for me I think...

Thanks

The only special map-sustaining tricks for this build I can think of is "keep your ball lightning at level 1 so you can run reflect maps."

This is a frequent question on Reddit. So, check the links at https://www.google.com/search?&q=site%3Areddit.com+how+to+sustain+red+maps

Right, I noted the lvl 1 Ball of Lightning for just that reason. I do really well with my guy mapping right up to the point to when my guy does not do well... lol... not sure what all even gets me as I don't really understand a lot of this game playing solo on Xbox I have no one to walk me through it. If anyone on here plays Xbox let me know, maybe we could play together.

Any other advice for Mapping and end game play would be appreciated.

Thanks

Just work on your Atlas Completion, where you use Orb of Transmutation on White Maps (t1-t5), alchemy orb on T6-T10, and Alch+Vaal to corrupt T11-T16. Once you get near 100 maps completed, you won't have much trouble with sustain. It's best to roll maps that have magic or rare monster properties on them for better drops, and try to get your quantitiy as high as possible.

It's possible to run reflect with this build, but Physical reflect is extremely annoying for bosses.

It doesn't sound like you're an experienced enough to worry about other map strategies, such as shaping or sextants just yet.

Last tip is to cap your resistance ASAP and shoot for at least 6k HP. You can do up to T10 maps with 4.5k HP just fine, but you're going to want more for red maps.

So I agree that I want more HPs while maintaining max resistance (I have max in the elements but like -36% chaos or something) but I don't know how to get more life without giving up resistance at this point. Getting a Belly of the Beast 6L is darn near impossible I think on Xbox One for me unless I am missing something. So I am stuck with RARES and taking whatever is available that isn't trading for hundreds of Chaos orbs.

I do appreciate the feedback. Sounds like I just need to keep grinding.

Sorry, I don't know anything about the Xbox economy, so it may be more difficult there due to a lower player base. However, 6L should be done yourself. What you want to do is 6 socket a Belly, then use Hillock in Syndicate to get it to 28% quality. Once that's done, start spamming fusing orbs on it. If you look at my profile, I am just wearing a unique chest and it works totally fine. Belly is a luxury item, just get something 6L with high resists and preferably some open prefix/suffix and you'll do fine.
So I am beginning the end game map progression to collect the memory fragments from Zana and I have a few questions. I realize this isn't exactly on topic so maybe in a couple of days you just delete this and the answer but you guys/gals are the only source of POE knowledge I can acquire and I am confused so here it goes.

To get the necessary elder influenced maps it seems that I have to continue to defeat the maps that are on the end of the elder area and then the elder area expands. Those seem to be Shaper influenced maps. So I typically have to do a map and beat it, then do it again once the Elder influence has moved in to beat it again. I continue to repeat that as the blob of Elder influence expands. Am I doing this correctly?

Next, I read that you could increase the map level by 5 using the Zana mods for this but it doesn't work for me. I raised an elder influenced lvl 2 map to lvl 7 twice and it didn't give me the quest either time. I don't know if that is something that use to work and now doesn't or if I am just doing it wrong.

Next, when I go to the market to purchase maps I notice that people have maps for sale that are +5 level greater then what they are on my map. Meaning a lvl 2 map might be lvl 7 for sale. How do they get that map in their stash? Whenever I upgrade my maps through Zana she instantly opens the maps. I don't know how one has Zana upgrade the map 5 levels and then pull the map back into the stash. I think I am missing something here.

Next - I am at 4.5K health with this build. From everything I have read I am going to hit a wall where I can't go further as that won't be enough HPs to complete the game. As I am an Xbox player I am not sure what I can do about that yet. I have over 3 Exalted Orbs of wealth but trying to get gear that has the Shaper mods we need, plus resistance plus HPs is nearly impossible.

Next - If/when I make it to the end game T-15&16 maps can I expect to farm elite equipment that I can actually use or does everyone trade for their equipment?

Last - I have decided to use a socketed amulet with resistances because I feel exposed without the convocation skill. I simply LOVE the ability to bring the army to me as I pass into new rooms and zoom ahead. I really don't understand how you can play this summoner build without that ability.

Thanks!
