POE is not a FREE TO PLAY
This game may have its flaws but the economic model is certainly not one of them.

U need a currency stash tab and a map stash tab. That's life changing and is not expensive at all. The rest is up to you. Maybe u want to have 2 stashs full of uniques ull never use or sell, or maybe essences u wont even upgrade. Ur call.

I'm having the same dilemma about whether or not to get the 200 points pack just to continue playing. Reached the point where it's impossible to play/grind anymore due to insufficient stash tab.
I have remained undecided for a long time (Tried PoE since closed beta before maps, fragments, essences or cards were a thing) because I do not like the idea of "create a problem, sell the solution" approach of these stash tabs. There is no telling when GGG would very well create new item types, maybe call it runes, charms, whatever, etc.. and have it clog up your normal stash tabs by having a limit of 10 per stack LOL. Create new specialty tabs called the runes tab, charms tab and sell it. You see the game is good fun no doubt and I'd rather just buy the game at box price and get access to every future possible QoL improvements as updates and patch. Not some cheap schemes like create new item type called fragments, cards, essences, maps and then sell the "special tabs" to fix your cumbersome and clunky inventory system. Everything else is fine. I don't know, probably miss the stash tab sale, quit this league, go back to other games and by the time D2: Sigma will be out.. and the cycle continues. I'll forget about PoE until the next league and hope I don't see another new item type and specialty stash tab and feel disgusted by it.
" If PoE was a retail game, you'd buy one box for the base game, which would receive bugfixes and minor QoL improvements for a while. Then there would be an expansion which would add ascendancies and divination cards to the game. You could continue playing the base game without paying, but if you wanted access to the new features you'd have to buy the expansion box. Maybe divination cards would drop for you but you couldn't turn them in without actually having the expansion. Another expansion would add essences and the Atlas of Worlds. Again you could continue playing the game as before, but if you did not purchase the Atlas of Worlds you wouldn't get access to the new maps or the map tier bonus. Then the War for the Atlas expansion, Incursion expansion and the Delve expansion. I imagine by this point you'd have had to buy at least five expansions on top of the base game, each with their own price tag. Maybe the earlier expansions would be rolled together in some kind of bundle, but if you wanted to benefit from the lower bundle price you'd have to hold out for a year or two before getting accesss to the expansion content. Instead GGG gives you all this great content for free. If you want to support them, buying new stash tabs to store all the stuff is a great way to do that. If you'd prefer to pay up front for each expansion, I can understand that. It's a very straightforward business model and if there's no microtransactions at all, you can't accidentally spend lots of money on the game. I just ask you to consider what you're actually getting and how much you're paying for it. |

" I love when people get all mad on the internet they call the other person boy or kid like they're some older paragon of wisdom or something. And judging from your comments you're the furthest thing from that.
PoE is free to play. It's really that simple. It may not be free to play in the way you would like, but that's a different story.

At this point I'm surprised this thread has managed to stay on the first page this long.
Yep, totally over league play.
| |
Weird. Last I checked it was completely free to play, and that was 2 minutes ago.
Carry on my waypoint son, there'll be peace when maps are done.
Lay your portal gem to rest, don't you die no more. 'Cause it's a bitter sweet symphony this league. Try to make maps meet, you're a slave to the meta, then you leave.
i spent more money to cover for your not wanting to

" Well, it was about to drop off once but he bumped it intentionally. I’m more surprised GGG hasn’t locked it with all the insults being thrown around. OP: If you feel like GGG is being unfair with their business model you are welcome to go try those other F2P ARPG’s out there. This whole argument is as tired as the neverending AH argument. Been going on for years and the same logical fallacies are used every time. You won’t be rembered because you are not saying anything that hasn't been said a thousand times before, and far more eloquently by far more credible players. There is no content in this game you cannot access because of tabs. You can SSF kill shaper, uber elder, delve to wherever. Nothing is stopping you. You have no argument. Let this thread die already. POE Serenity Prayer: GGG, grant me the serenity to accept the RNG I cannot change,
the courage to challenge any unbalanced content, and the wisdom to avoid the forums. Mad: "Oh, it's simple and if you insist... I just think you're a dick. That's all." QFT: 4TRY4C&4NO |
