Taste has nothing to do with feelings, and has everything to do with being exposed to tasteful things around you. Taste is always objective, feelings are often not. Yes, some people are born with better taste than others, but it can also be developed just as any skill with time.

My masters degree gives me an advantage in that sense over people who master in other things. This is obvious, and that's all I have implied above. I didn't claim to be superior from birth from any body else, so please address your ridiculous accusations in lack of humility to the person I adressed above..you seem to have no problem that he clearly thinks he has great "taste and common sense" (can't even fathom, what the latter has to do with the aesthetics of some skills).

No, taste is NOT objective. Taste varies for each person, each generation, each culture (Japanese tastes and French tastes are very different, which one is objectively better? Neither.). You should probably read Kant about aesthetics.
Quality of work can be objective, so I have no problem with quality rating. But even poor quality work with very basic skills can touch you more or can express more than other works objectively better on a skill/technique point of vue, so you will prefer the first one.

You're wrong about this, I don't agree with him either.

I think you should give more evidence about life leeched and bleeding enemies

Two things, which you clearly lack. As someone who has masters in fine arts I am pretty confident that I have more taste than you or any of the GGG staff members who flood these forums with a billion of generic one-word praise posts, no mater how bad the company fucks something up. Prepping your own product under the disguise of customers is a mandatory business strategy these days, and the primary reason these forums still exist.

Enter the game and converse with players, and you'll get the true idea of how the people feel.

Ok, so when we like something you don't, we are necessarily some GGG staff members…

The only taste that varies from a person to a person is a taste for snacks. As for aesthetic taste, you either got it or you don't.

A Japanese painter and a French one can work within the styles of their respective cultures, yet understand and see the aesthetic value of each others work. This is so, because art is objective and so is taste...you either understand/appreciate an aestheticaly tasteful creation or you can't. Otherwise, if we accept that taste is not universal, than we must accept that there is infinite number of tastes, from which we then must conclude that anything at all can be called aesthetic, including poop (before reading Kant, its generally a good idea not to skip Plato). Similarly, there is no good art and bad art-- one's work is either art or it is not, no matter from what culture does it come from. And any true painter, writer, musician etc. recognizes that. Otherwise the great artists of history would only be valued in their respective cultures.

I don't disagree with what you said...you're simply talking culture, I was talking aesthetic taste.

Can't disagree with any of that, and if the original person I replied to simply stated that he likes the new skills better for whatever personal reason , he wouldn't have gotten the reply from me that he got. Instead, he claimed that ANYONE with TASTE and common sense would choose the new ones, only demonstrating that he's got neither. I merely pointed that out...

P.S. Kant is a modernist, and I, like many others, detest modernism and where it brought us. He is also not an artist, and philosophy (despite its huge cultural value) is not an art. Philosophy is logic/reason, and however contradictory it sounds, can never truly be accepted as objective, because it searches for the universal truth that's not attainable.

Umm, no, not necessarily... I'm fine with players who like something that I don't. It's just that players, unlike paid staff members, tend to write more than one-worded lazy praise posts...that's all.

Glad that you are revisiting old skills.

I think they are all an improvement except ice nova and caustic arrow.

Ice nova is neither worse nor better. It's cool, though. :P

The new caustic arrow looks awful, however. Might want to reconsider implementing it.
Wash your hands, Exile!
Meh. Nothing for the casters. Nothing cool as "ICESTORM" or so..
With the "1h 6L wipe" the PoE turns to a joke now.
There is no sane reason for one to play it any further.
Nice reworks, but where's the visual update for Viper Strike? It's not very visually satisfying.
Combat is simple.
Keep your blood in.
Take theirs out.
