[3.3] The Oath Keeper - A Death's Oath build by the person behind the item

First of all, I would like to say that Death's Oath builds are my favorite builds in the game. I had so far played 2 different DO build one with Occultist in previous league and the other one with Trickster in this league. I couldn't break 53k DOT damage mark although items in my Trickster build is quite op.

Looking into your POB, your build does 90k DOT. I really would like to experience a DO build having that much damage but looking into items' prices, it looks like I need to keep dreaming.

Don't let your dreams be dreams! Swap out Atziri's Reflection for Apep's Supremacy, Headhunter for a solid es Stygian vise, +1 curse amulet for a non corrupt one and drop the Watcher's eye entirely and suddenly the build is fairly cheap.

This is how I play my build before I can afford anything fancy (Which is 90% of the time). Me getting Headhunter was pure luck in Incursion since i got it from a T3 sacrifice room.

If you're wondering how I deal with not having a third curse I just use Windshriek. Don't give up! :)

Thanks Isildria. Can you also advise what DOT value will be in that case? It is certainly going to be less than 90k but I am trying to figure out how far I can push with cheaper version

Dmg is pretty much the same since the only dmg you'd be swapping out is the curse effect on Atziri's Reflection. But on the other hand you'll miss out on a chunk of survivability, But that's negligible I'd say.

First time ever playing a Death's Oath build and i'm enjoying it a lot. It's a lot more tanky than I originally thought it would be. I really like that I can just run into packs and let profane bloom take care of them.

I do have a couple questions though. Would you mine taking a look at my character and see if anything stands out as not necessary or along those lines. Also flasks, what should be my flask set up.

Thanks for your time! Love the build.

Edit: Also what pantheon powers would you recommend?

Besides from the missing links/sockets in your boots there's not much to point out, you're on the right track.

For flasks I'd swap out the basalt and ruby flask for a silver and quartz flask as the silver flask makes you faster (Shield charge) and the quartz is a huge quality of life flask (walking thru enemies). Give it a try at least, It took me a while before I tried a quartz flask and now it's a must in my setup. There's nothing wrong with a more defensive setup but personally I don't think the build needs it even with a cheaper setup.

As for Pantheons I'm currently using Lunaris as my Major and Abberath as my minor. Ignites can be quite nasty since they deny you ES recharge. You can go with an anti burn flask, But I would avoid using a flask slot if I could. Lunaris is just a solid choice as it gives you survivability, makes chain on maps irrelevant (Good for playing in a group) and movement speed which is always nice.

I hope this was helpful, also good luck :)

Thanks for you effort so far in creating this thread on your build (and item haha)!

This seems like a really fun build - some elaboration on alternative gear until you reach the end game and basic explanations of item choices would really help a lot of players I feel(including myself)! Gonna give it a whirl, looks really fun.
Hello is realy nice build, could u check my gear ?

- PikusQQ - Standard

I run uber labs to hit some nice enchant on "Heretic's Veil"
Also no one sell "Impresence, Onyx Amulet" with +1 curse ;/ so i use Despair + Tempolary Chain's

Is there some set to use this build for (Bosses?)

Thanks for making Death's Oath I really like the item. I made two builds with it, one life based and one ES. They're both really good up to T15 and after that the single target is just too bad.

God bless
hi i would like to ask whats the alternative for the shield?
