I just threw this build together on a level 92 since I had most gear on hand plus a free passive tree reset. Damage looks like it can reach good levels, but I can only get a little over 6k ES. I had to prune the passive tree for level 92, and I don't know if I did that well or not.

Looking at helms, shields, amulets, rings and even boots, I see that the pricing of significant ES upgrades with at least some resists quickly goes into 10s of exalts on standard.

I don't imagine it will survive well at 6K ES, and any of those upgrades far exceed my budget. This build looked interesting, and I will probably give it at least a brief try, but I'll probably have to move on to something else I can afford. Disappointing.

You will need a fair bit more investment to get decent ES. The build scales flat ES extremely well (int and str), but doesn't pick up much. There are only a few spots to get flat ES:
- Hat - 300+ es helm with int for about 1ex: https://www.pathofexile.com/trade/search/Standard/e2Lr6oIL
- Shield - 350+ es shield with int for about 1ex https://www.pathofexile.com/trade/search/Standard/0Pq3VOFg
- Boots - you don't need Death's door, can just use high ES boots and use a jewel with corrupted blood corruption or staunching flask.
- Jewels - all your rare jewels should be abyss jewels with a high flat ES roll and int.
Thanks for the help. I did get a 250 ES helm for 20 chaos. I'm almost to 7K ES, and will try it out at that level to see how I like it.

The 1ex you quote from those searches does not account for balancing resists. Cost goes up 5-10x when you get decent resists, or the cost just shifts to other pieces if I don't get them on helm and shield.

I'll take a look at what I can do with ES boots. Might get some resists there and free up shield for improvement.

Jewels can be a good way to temporarily balance resists as well. If you are using Wise Oak, you do not really need to over-cap for ele weakness as it compensates.

Note that this is still not a cheap build if you want it to shine. It gets quite strong with about a 100ex investment. I am using about 300-400ex of gear, and it's the strongest build I've played since open beta.

Are there other skills that will work well in this build besides blade flurry?I'm not liking blade flurry all that well.

I really like it with molten strike - though you will need at least a Dying Sun, a Wildfire jewel, and ideally a +2 projectile helmet enchant.

Alternatively reave for aoe clear and BF for bosses.
Thanks, I'll look at reave. I've done molten strike too many times. On the other hand, if I should be keeping BF for bosses anyway, I should try to grok it a little better.

Also, what about cyclone? I've played cyclone too much, but PoB shows surprisingly good numbers for it in place of BF. I normally don't use it for direct damage.

If you go reave, you will want BF for bosses. MS works well for both AOE and the boss (I hate switching skill gems).
I tried reave, and I guess I'll stick with BF, but I also tried cyclone. Works pretty well. Seems like it would be good for delving. However, I have two other cyclone builds right now so I don't want to do that. Plus they are supposedly changing cyclone to a channeled skill, so who knows what that will do to it.

You can try wild strike as well
I've now tried these skills:

blade flurry: does not move when held, when reachable enemies are gone, just misses

wild strike: simply misses a whole lot with imperfect mousing

reave: behaves ok, damage feels anemic

cyclone: works pretty well on packs, not great single target, already have two builds based on cyclone

molten strike: works well, but I have another MS juggernaut

The best solution I have at the moment is to combine blade flurry and cyclone, where cyclone moves into packs and applies elemental weakness, then blade flurry clears out what survived. However, that is just like the playstyle of my other MS jugg, so not crazy about doing that again.

Does anyone have tips on playing blade flurry better? Do you use a number key or mouse button? I've had it on a key, since I like to have movement skills on the mouse.

edit: looks like you can't put blade flurry on left mouse. can't move.
