That pattern reminds me of cells. Do you ever carve the horns?

Looking forward to the dog skull :)

It's a pattern that forms in limestone, in caves in particular, they are coalescent alveolar corrossions, a variant of rimstone corrossions, also kind looks like morrel mushroom i think, but the point was to make something that is seen in limestone, since limestone is basically extremely old bone, wanted to make a connection with that and the skull hence the name of this piece is "The ilussion of time"

I will do soon as soon as my air compressor is installed, need some real heavy tools for horns, the medical micromotors i use are too fine for such mass work

Ah, thanks for explaining your thought process. I had a look and while I didn't find exactly that, (agree on the mushrooms) Altamura Man is along the lines and stunning, you might agree.

That sounds great, with the horns - there's nothing out there on horns that's quite what you do.

It's basically a fancy term from a speleology book by marcian bleahu for a type of very common corrosion found in caves, for some reason i also cant find it through google and i dont know the day to day term for them :/ but they are very similar to rimstone corrossions

Thanks!

Mostly dental laboratory micromotors from NSK, Ultimate XL series are the best, a cheaper one from Saeyang, the marathon 600, air biax for removing big chunks of bone, hand drills from proxxon and electric biax from makita, and loads of hand tools
