Bubbling vs Seething flask mod
I have tested the mechanics (see https://imgur.com/a/JaQmxMq) and found that all of quality, flask effect, and increased flask life/mana recovery stack -multiplicatively- for determining how much life is gained from flask use.
Additionally, flask duration is also multiplicative with all of the above but only for life gained over time from the flasks. Instantaneous life gained from flasks is not increased or decreased from flask duration at all. I tested on all of catalyzed, seething, bubbling, panicked, and cautious greater life flasks. There are 36 pictures in that album showing irrefutable proof of how each of the flask mods works. So the Seething numbers in the top post would be correct assuming 20% increased life recovered from flasks and 26% increased flask effect. 979*1.2*1.26 = 1480.248 which is within rounding error of the shown 1481. The Bubbling numbers are wrong, period. Half of 1440 is 720, so 720*1.2*1.26 = 1088.64. That's what it'll return on the instantaneous part, but if there is any form of increased flask duration affecting the character then the over time part will get boosted by that. If it's 10% duration from Alchemist then 1088.64*1.1 = 1197.504 life. Adding them together results in 2286.144 total life recovered from using the flask. I am not able to test how increased flask duration and increased flask recovery rate interact, but suffice to say increased duration will always increase the life gained over time from a flask while recovery rate will simply make that total life gained recover a little quicker. Yeah it's a bit odd that Path of Building would say you gain nearly a 3:1 ratio of instant vs. over-time recovery when it should be very close to half and half (1:1), and as Jackalope's tests show, if anything, the over-time portion should have the higher end of the ratio, not instant by 300%.

I did testing and have to say PoB is incorrect when displaying instant recovery part of bubbling flask.

I have a vague memory of 'bubbling' being changed in at least one patch - maybe two patches. It may be that the PoB calculations are simply outdated now.
Edit: one is here: 3.0.2 Patch Notes " Edit 2: This thread implies that there was some other change at some time: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1610174 No wonder it's lost, it's in the middle of the jungle! Last edited by Zrevnur#2026 on Jul 4, 2018, 7:01:06 AM

" Correct in all regards, as far as I can tell. I think PoB is still using the calculation from before the bug was fixed. As the author of the linked bug report I can confirm that the PoB formula is not just some random mess, but reflected the state of the game for quite a while. I played only with bubbling flasks for several leagues because they were OP as fuck. Edit: Notified Openarl (the PoB dev) in discord. Last edited by aRTy42#1524 on Jul 4, 2018, 11:10:44 PM
