Ok ... so what am I missing here:

I've just started this build ... but the location for the 2nd Combat Focus Jewel (the one top left of the tree, after the 2 4% elemental damage nodes) doesn't seem to have 40 strength/int in it's radius, so it doesn't block the other elemental damage type (lightning, in my case).

So when I use EH I alternate between fire and lightning (cold is the other CF Jewel which does have 40 in it's radius).

I don't see anyone else mentioning this ... so ... what am I missing? :-)

So Combat Focus reads "With Total 40 Strength and Dexterity in radius.
And that node has 30dex and 30 str nearby, for a total of 60. which qualifies 40 required.

Thank you for response. When I checked again the reason I was not proc'ing as expected was because I had the wrong jewels in the wrong nodes. I thought it didn't matter which one went where, but it does because they have different requirements.

Do you prefer Resolute Technique or Elemental Overload? Why?

And could you provide an example of crit-generating setup?

Thank you.

Elemental Overload or Resolute Technique?

The answer depends on what playstyle you want and what items you are using.

Elemental Overload:
Going Elemental Overload means you need to have method to crit in 8 seconds. And there are many ways to achieve that. Examples are: Orb of Storms, Trypanon in offhand, Blade Vortex on damage taken. Using Kaom's Heart would limit your gem slots and make it difficult to setup crit methods.

The Lioneye's Glare + EO combo is also good since you can crit while never miss.

I liked the low accuracy for penetrating into mob packs for a more effective AoE until you find yourself struggling at boss fights sometimes.

Resolute Technique:
It removes the limitation of using Lioneye's Glare and allows you to use a +3 bow/ Quill Rain instead.

I sometimes hate the popping sounds from crit and this completely removes it.

For more effective AoE, you can always use a quiver that pierces target(aka Drillneck). It is not a must since our AoE and prolif is large enough to clear packs.

This might help
Right, just fire.

Hi again,

Just reviewing the levelling posts and "final" pastebin trees.

1) Can I check that the levelling trees are focused on EO build instead of RT? If RT is the end goal would levelling tree be different?

2) Levelling trees (even the one listed at level 80) looks quite different to the final EO tree. e.g. on the "level 80" skill tree link there is no Celestial Judgement or Punishment nodes taken, and while the final tree goes round the outside of the tree (past those nodes), the level 80 one doesn't (it goes via retribution node). If this is on purpose, at what point do you switch to the final tree?

Also to answer the same question from another poster but in different way ... if you had to recommend one build - RT or EO - which would you chose? Any major difference in price (for gear?).
Hey there OP. Thanks for putting together the guide. I'm currently running a Deadeye EH build ( https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2166899 ) but the Xoph's Blood, Lioneye's fall and Frostferno helm are pretty important and have a large impact on the tree. I'm having a lot of trouble surviving without them. How's the survivability of this build comparatively?

I don't actually know how to make the levelling guide of this one. This build would always destroy act contents as long as you have avatar of fire and combat focus. So you can just look at the finalized skill tree you want and prioritize on life > jewel slot > damage if you like.

I played EH ignite as my stater character this league, and that level 80 skill tree was the one I used in the first week. It will fit better if you are on a budget.

Skill trees would always vary a bit depending on your gear.
I invested more on the scion circle since I have might of the meek.
I also took life recovery from flasks becasuse I am using Kaom's Heart and have 7k life.

I guess I will explain those clearly if I have time.

Still, EO is for mapping while RT is for boss.
In early game /budget you need EO for the extra damage. When you want to push higher and try some Shaper, RT would be better.
Your gears on both paths are the same, just depends on what you want to farm with it.
Right, just fire.

On map clearing both build is fast and stable. Mine is a lot cleaner, so I will never get surprise attack from a mob hidden in the corner.

But they are different in boss killing.

Your build is a typical glass cannon. Kill everything before they kill you. If you don't you die.
My build requires a lot less attacks, and thus instead of killing fast, I walk fast and dodge everything. You will need to learn every boss attack move in order to achieve this.

so how i initially planned to run a build somewhat similar to this was not as optimized as i thought it would be, so i swapped some things up.

using quill rain over lioneye's glare now, and a rare quiver (for life and resists) over the signal fire, to mention a couple of changes from my initial plan.

however, since im running a fairly significantly different tree, i have found a huge and SUPER cheap way to fix any accuracy issues without using RT. essentially you just buy 1-2x Tempered Mind jewels (they're like 1 jewelers a piece) which gives 100 accuracy per 10 int NOT allocated. i got two and put them in place. i also just allocated two passives by templar for % accuracy, and went from 75% up to 93%. voila. now i can freely and easily use elemental overload.
Thank you so much FunRoom! This is the most fun build I have ever played and I have played quite a lot of different builds. If even one of your arrows gently touches a monster pack they just burn burn burn to death and it feels goooooooood.

I just love the amount of synergy in this build. This was super fun to level as well! If you have both threshold jewels and the rings you can get 90% conversion very early and elemental hit just becomes super OP. I used this three https://poeplanner.com/AA0AAD0ADQMAABvfilSufdIi9GwLkyd_xhGWDkjjhBvIz93ximsXlSAtH0yz0B_v6zsNEQ-smPfXm6GPRh0Ur40AAAAAAA==
to rush for conversion and then just respecced to yours. I used my standard skin of the loyal + flat es stuff for leveling.

This build has also made it fun to actually learn to dodge boss mechanics. I really, really suck as a player and this build is a fun way to learn. No need to stand in place ever and attacks with quill rain are so smooth and fast.

I really wanted to play an ignite prolif chaaracter this league and this build just has to be the best way to do it, just like you explained in your intro.

Once more thank you, thank you, thank you for the super fun build.

ya compared to other builds the single target feels quite weak, but its rewarded and actually pretty safe from what i've found so far. ive gotten to t14 maps and i still rarely die even with just 4800 life.

having to dodge the boss mechanics and attacks and stuff definitely is fun and forces you to play better instead of just facetanking everything like im used to.

you can't beat this clear speed though. it is straight up insane. im currently crafting a +3 bow to either replace the quill rain or use on weapon swap just for single target, as the added damage is going to be very significant.

im probably also going to throw in a defensive curse somewhere. though i can't wait for the curse rework so that they don't feel useless to use. as it is right now they're almost useless in the only useful time to use them - vs bosses.
Hi guys, i wanted to give some feedback since i played a variation of this build quite a lot by now.

I have/had lots of fun playing this build, map clear feels very smooth, even with multiple defensive mods high tier maps are no problem. The single target on guardians/shaper/uber elder is slightly lacking, but with a bit of patience they all die in a reasonable amount of time.

While i really like the basic concept of this build i felt like the equipment was a bit to unique heavy, which is why i looked for pieces to replace. I ended up using rare quivers and a rare helmet, making it easier to cap resists and giving me more life -- I have 7500-7800 life with my final setup. For the quiver slot especially i dont see a reason to use uniques -- for clearing i recommend
something like this -- with a deafening essence of misery you get a +3 pierce quiver which feels really good for mapping. For single target i went for a
accuracy quiver. Grand spectrums are a nice budget option, but with some investment (50-100c per jewel) you can get the same damage + 7% life on each jewel slot. I skipped the entire might of the meek stuff, doesnt seem to be worth it to me. I also dropped the dual curse because no mobs are in range for blasphemy flamability and bosses have way to much curse resistance. Instead i run vitality + blasphemy temp chains and a vitality life reg watchers eye. With some more regen nodes i ended up with ~650 life regen (or over 1000 on consecrated ground from a flask) which feels super nice for mapping and helps a lot with hard boss fights.

Here is my skill tree if someone wants to see it: https://www.pathofexile.com/fullscreen-passive-skill-tree/3.3.1/AAAABAMCAQQHBLMI9AthDF8RLxJpEzUWbxa_FxwXpBhWGjgbyBynHNwdFB8YIbAi9CaVJy8o-iqNLpQyiTT3NZI2PTbYOlg62DrhPC1Bh0WdRlJJG0yzTeNQQlH7UzVTUlOlVEdUrlVLVcZWSGHiYqxmVGh0aPJqQ2t6bAtsjG0ZcXl2gnflfdKCm4LHg1-DzIPbhXuMNo8aj0aQVZD6kyeXhZeVl_Sa4JuhnaqhL6IAplemvqcIrJivbK-NtNG1SLc-uJO86r6Kxq7IDMi_zRbP3dAf2CTYvdpi323fiuFz42rrY-vu7DjsVe0g7-vwH_Fs8YryRffX-ej60vxM_gr-jw==?accountName=netmos&characterName=netmoshittingwithele

I strougled a lot with uber elder with this build (which may have been lack of practice), the trick for me to get him down in the end was to swap to the soul of arakali pantheon for extra regen and run a blood of the karui flask -- which is awesome in general.

I hope you guys also enjoy this build a lot, and maybe i could help someone improve his build with the changes i made :)
