Not necessarily. As a matter of fact we dont know their engine nor their inhouse dev-kits.
It might well be, that no one planned ahead when they were creating the models and rigs.
It might be, that were going for an "One-Size-Fits-All" approach and all they are doing is creating the biggest variant and then just scale it down.
If so, they would actually have to rework most models and rigs.
All Im trying to say is:
None of us has the knowledge to even estimate the amount of work needed to make it happen.
GGG does know and they didnt release any MTXs like those that players are asking for in this thread.
Why? Because they dont know how to pull it off?
No, they do know and didnt go for it - although they would have earned money by doing so.
Thats all you need to know to figure out yourself - its not as easy as you think.
If it was, these MTXs would already exist since years.
Considering every other game can do this and they haven't said its an issue I think this is argument is a non starter. GGG is pretty honest about what they can't do easily. Plus they have added the scion model since start which is a fuck ton harder than just making skin wear non bulky leather. And yea I program for a living but I am not saying I am a POE code expert.[/quote]
It looks like you're right! I looked at a list of armours that exist, and they do seem to get skin tight at certain parts, So it's definitely possible to make other armours fit better!
I made this armour on Photoshop out of armours that already exist XD:
Looks pretty messy but the fit is so nice :/ I wish they would have a microtransaction armour like this...

That looks really good, I wish that was in game, reminds of the of the ancient armour in D2.
I wish there was some more armour, that just looked like armour

Woooow they do look similar. Yeah honestly the more variety in armour bases the better, but I get that that takes a really long time to do, too T_T.

I sort of wish you'd change your topic title so that it more clearly articulates how important your actual suggestion is. We veterans are used to the not-so-occasional call for more boobies and molded cuirasses which obviously isn't going to happen (thankfully). Your examples are much more rational and palatable, focusing on natural curvature that is somehow 'concealed' by the armour overlays.
A few things to note.
Most importantly, I take it for granted that the npcs have better sculpting and modeling than the player characters, because most of them came long after the player models. Clarissa, especially, I think puts the player models to shame and I'm glad you used that as an example. The current player models are ancient. I'm pretty sure they haven't changed in any significant ways since the private alpha, and certainly not since the closed beta of 2012. It is fairly well known that a player model overhaul is in the works -- GGG themselves have hinted at it over the past few months and some preliminary work was shown at a Chinese PoE event. So I think this is less a call for 'girly armour options' and probably more a matter of waiting to see how the player model rework affects what goes on top. Typically armour itself doesn't change to fit the body underneath, after all.
And secondly, unlike Guild Wars 2 (from which you drew your examples, and rightfully so; ArenaNet do amazing character and item designs/modeling), Path of Exile doesn't really have much in the way of cosmetic showing off on a larger scale. Where Tyria has Lion's Arch and you can just wander around admiring all the shinies, we have...Lioneye's Watch, a shitty little outcropping of civilisation literally no bigger than an outpost. At best we have Sarn, which is still sharded like crazy. I think GGG push mtxes less to give players a chance to show off and more to help our personal, private experiences look less cruddy. Whether or not they succeed in this is pretty much up to the individual. That probably gives them less impetus to worry how player models look at a distance rather than zoomed in. Not saying they don't care about it because I suspect the aforementioned player model rework will make a big difference...just saying I don't think it's as big a priority for them as certain other games.
Anyway, thanks for making the effort. It's a good point to raise. And again, please consider changing that topic title. I almost didn't click on it because it looks like clickbait. Cheers.
Thank you so much for this well written comment. I agree with everything, some people enjoy getting really into the role and enjoying the story and art. I'm guessing that's part of the reason why Self Found mode looks really popular as well. Obviously mechanics of a game are super important, but it would make PoE even more amazing if they catered to everyone's needs, including people that appreciate really cool art in a game.
Again, just thinking about it it would take time. Obviously to make a fitted armour vs just slightly modifying the versions for the other characters would take longer - there are just more changes to make. But I'm really happy to see that there are other people out there who would appreciate PoE doing something like this, not just me.
Some of the NPC's have pretty extravagant armour XD and someone did mention that it's so much easier to do for an NPC than it is for player-wearable character. Yeah I can see that. I've seen amazing NPC armour in A LOT of games. But here it just seems like an example that PoE does have great taste in fashion for female characters T _T so it shows that it's possible to make one or two really nice microtransaction armours for female characters too. I think that makes it at least okay to desperately ask for, lol.
(I changed the topic title as well, thank you!)
