[Solved] options can't be saved / no MOTD / no DOTD

Also want to point out, if you have issues with your password not saving when switching clients or logging on from another computer. Setting PoE allowed through controlled folder access may fix this.

I found on a recent install that the 'My Games' folder was set to read-only and protected. I right-clicked it, selected properties and removed those flags. Since I did that everything works right. I have no idea why the folder was set as read-only, it was a new install.

Thank you for this, I had issues with minimap resetting and game settings not saving.
This fixed it <3

Or just disable/get rid of the Windows Defender.
The truth is if you don't visit random shady sites and click on everything a website might show you in any number of popups, you will never need anything more than CCleaner and Malwarebytes.
Softwares like Windows Defender, all the avasts and whatever else tend to cause more problems than they do good.
