Video of 3/4 guardians + shaper with an aurabot.

We are talking in discord while we do it and it's the aurabots first time for most of them so if you don't want to hear some chatter/some screams from him as he runs/gets gibbed then don't watch this one :P (I was teaching him the fights as we went).



I know having an aurabot makes it easier damage wise, but you can see a few times he dies and I don't have auras affecting me that the damage is more than fine. Happens mainly about halfway through hydra, end of minotaur, end of chimera and phase two of shaper.

I had two deaths total. One was to not having the anti stun pantheon on hydra (stunlocked to death) and I almost died again to chimera because of it. Would highly recommend swapping into that for boss fights.

Then I died during the shaper run by face tanking a Malachai teleport slam thing, so don't be a scrub and you're fine.

All maps were rolled with fairly easy mods (no damage, but some had %hp). All corrupted to get me my completion. Didn't do phoenix as I already had a fragment and didn't want to buy the map.

Overall the build felt very solid for guardians/shaper and I have also done yellow tier Elder with no issue (working on getting him in red). Damage is great, survive is great and AoE is actually quite good as you can spam balls all around you (really good for Abyss's aswell, just cover them with balls.)

I think War Bringer would definitely be a better choice for your last ascendancy if you're doing some harder bosses or maps, I'm just lazy and like the passiveness of Rite of Ruin.

May upload something in the future of a solo but we play together a lot so it's most likely not going to happen.

I don't like Bodyswap. It has the problem, similair to Flicker Strike, where it causes you to lose too much control over your positioning. I like Volatile Dead because I can clear packs from a safe distance, around corners or even screens away. Being thrown violently in to the middle of the action doesn't appeal to me.

Love the build, i dont have Kaom so using a Carcass Jack Varnished Coat and Ice spear insted of GMP in the pen works wonders , dont have the head enchant yet.
In my 5 link i have Additional Accuracy Support for the bonus to crit from gloves.
Eny tips for improvement ?

Your gear looks solid. I'd recommend getting Acuities and the helmet enchant, drop Carcass Jack for Kaoms' Heart if you want more life. Life on boots and Opal rings are also nice things to have.

Not sure how good running 2 active skills in Poet's Pen is since you're going to reduce your corpse output.

Love to hear some ppl playing it on HC too

Is vaal pact still worth it after the nerf in 3.1?

I just tried switching volatile dead + conc.effect with detonate dead + spell cascade.
I'm still leveling, so I can't say anything about mapping, but it could be something to look into.
There are no homing projectiles, so I suspect clear speed will suffer, but boss dps should be a bit higher.

Maybe it could be worth it for guardians?

Volatile dead looks like a not the most fun gem in this game. Is it really fun to play this build?

Or the currency that you farm with this build compensates the fun part?

One thing I've found works well is take bodyswap off the poet pen link and just throw it in a random spot. Give you really great movement (not as great as shield charge, but better than other alternatives), while retaining control.

It's a ranged attack skill that works well on its own. Personally, I really love the non-meele playstyle and like seeing things die from screens away. I am not a fan of the SRS-type skills, but this one doesn't feel like that so you should play it if you want to invest in a build.

I've played Frostblades and while that was fun, I don't think meele is my thing. If you want to be able to tank things in the leveling process and watch things die, its great.
