So after the clusterf**k that was the 3.0 launch GGG still insists on distributing a 5GB patch just 3 hours before launch.
What could possibly go wrong ? (again)
Then again, it wouldn't be a proper expansion launch without day 1 getting all f***ed up. Another precious GGG moment.

You have an alternative, called "download pre-patched .ggpk via torrent". -_-

I'm still downloading it myself. It's a zip file that contains another game file named 'Content.ggpk' that we need to uncompress.
The uncompressed file needs to be placed inside where your game is installed. To find it, right click on your PoE shortcut icon, and click on 'Open File Location', That will open the location where the game is installed. You will see a bunch of files there including the PoE executables.
Just put the file 'Content.ggpk' inside there and overwrite the old one.
If you want to be cautious, make a backup of the old one by renaming it to Content.ggpk.old and then copy the new one you got from zip. If all works well, delete the old file.
