" Now that I'm thinking about how a map tab could be implemented, it could be done. If one is thinking in terms of essences and the essence tab, this certainly won't work for maps. However, if one thinks in terms of poe.trade, there is no reason a map tab couldn't have a drop down list with all map names, a tier filter that would limit the drop down list of map names to the specified tier, and then a stash area that shows you all the individual maps you own for the specified map name, for example: Channel, or Shaped Channel, or Crypt, etc. Last edited by Galtrovan on Nov 8, 2017, 8:51:02 AM

first about this map tab thing. people had hundreds if not thousands of a type of map. usually rolled or qualtied. or magic. so they are not stack able. so you guys want GGG to make a drop down tab for every map in the god damn game? just so you can sort your maps because you were to lazy to organize them as they came.
a map tab is the stupidest thing ive ever heard of implementing... think about it. your asking to buy one single tab. that has 126+ drop down tabs for each map and each of those tabs will have how many slots??? this sounds so stupid. there is no map tab coming. the may make a tab for fragments. but even that is silly. as there is only 4 sacs 4 mortals 4 shapers 4 council keys 5 breach shards maybe the divine vessel? that is possible. but i would think the new tab is something bigger that goes with the new league. maybe it has a big mechanic like essence did. and it may need a full page for all its goodies. as for the map tab tho. really think about it. lol i forgot to mention that there is potentially like 75 maps that can be shaped lol thats another 75 drop down tabs in your map tab!! lol this is the biggest tab in history guys! It could simply stack white unrolled maps in a layout similar to the atlas (or integrated into the atlas) or just present rows for each tier, and one slot for each map on the tier, stacking maps to 100, with a large un-specified section like the curency tab (only bigger) to hold your maps with mods rolled. Unique maps would have their own slots either next to their normal counterparts, or on their own tier. They could have a button under each map's slot to convert 3 into another map, or a slot to drop maps to convert (with a preview of what will be created). It's not a crazy idea. It just takes a creative eye to work around the possible blockades to its being made a reality. (I know currently, each map could have its own item level, which always seemed odd to me, and they could be fixing that with how maps drop from the time of a map tab's implementation forward, and only new maps would fit into this new tab, or maps that fit its criteria for stacking) Do people really roll a ton of maps prior to mapping? I know I rolled each one individually as I mapped. They could have the unassigned area big enough to hold blue/yellow map drops and account for the pre-rolling needs of most players. | |
" " It's quite easy to implement. In the current state of map mechanics the tab could be devided by two parts: the one that holds fragments, obviously, and the second that replicates Div Cards Tab, a filter included. But! There is no invention in that approach, right? So what? NO MODS ON MAPS ITSELVES! Hence the conceptual rework. If we withdraw map mods off of the maps to external sources (which keeps happening from the beggining), then it comes possible to get a map its own socket. It can be mini-sockets like quadro-tab or a scollable list like divcards one does. That leaves enough room for map supplies grouped in some spot. Why do we need map mods? To get a target area behaves differently. In the current state it is already done with a help of externals like sextants and tabs in Zana device. We can extend the capabilites even further and bring in some additional way as needed in order to get rid of mods on maps COMPLETELY, keeping the maps in the only state. Hope that will make me come back to the game. This league made me take a break from the game for a while! :/ That said from a player with 3.5k hours spent in poe. HYPED!
