As you may suspect, this does indeed confirm that the official announcement is just around the corner! We'll be officially unveiling the content of this expansion, its companion challenge league and new supporter packs on Thursday November 16th (PST)

I hope you mean it literally.
I would welcome a permanent companion like the D2 mercs which you could individually equip with gear (only for the next league of course).

But we will see what the next theme for the coming league will be.

Maybe a global character buff/effect (per zone) similar like legacy league since we already got a ton of monster spawn related leagues already (breach,harbinger,talisman,essence,perandus,anarchy)
