Pictures about possible Secrets [Edit unofficial information]

Hi,

I found several pictures about possible secret in Path of Exile. I need your help to find out more about the pictures.

Facts:

- The character in the picture is using a Fairgraves' Tricorne. If used, boss monsters can drop a fishing rod

- The main information is integrated in the picture file name "trust_me_fish_here.jpg"

- The picture is made in Lioneye's Watch (Act 1) before the stairs as shortcut between way-point and the area with town portals was integrated.

- The picture contains no special metadata. The standard information are:

- The skill on left mouse is "Heavy Strike", but it does not work with fishing rods.

Speculation
- The character is directing to the ocean. So perhaps the ocean is the place to fish. (But why was it made in a city, where most skills are deactivated?)

- the picture shows a guy (background decoration) with a fishing rod in the Sarn Encampment (Act 3)

- The main information is integrated in the picture file name "one_fish_missing.jpg"

- there are 3 fish on the left side of the fishermen. (from his view on the right side)

- The picture contains no special metadata. The standard information are:

Speculation
- There would be enough space for a 4th fish. Perhaps we need to find the 4th fish? Or find the reason why a fish is missing? Or this is the date where a fishing mechanism was integrated to the game?

- The chat message shows "I found this while farming rhoas earlier [Itemlink]"

- The main information is integrated in the picture file name "feathers.jpg"

- It is known that Rhoa Feathers can be found in the "Mud Flats" from an "Albino Rhoa" (It has a white color)

- The Albino Rhoa behaves different compared to all other monsters, because it is running away instead of attacking the player.

- An Albino Rhoas dropps 1 feather if killed.

- Feathers have a stack size of 10

- Albino Rhoas appear very rare in the mud flats.

Speculation
- You get the information that it makes sense to go Rhoa hunting. This is the way to find the Albino Rhoa and therefore feathers.

- It is very strange that THAT chest is posted. I think it is a part of the secret.

- The chest does not look very special, but it has for its itemlevel and the game progress really good attributes.

- Feathers exits as long as I play POE (since Beta). I have heard that the feathers are the only items which had not been deleted after the Alpha version. At this time PoE was inspired from Diablo2. In Diablo2 exist charms which gives additional power when in the players Inventar. But charms do not exist in PoE. In my opinion the feathers could be an experiment about having charms in PoE. So I tested this theory:

- I tested having some feathers in the players Inventar with a character which had never feathers in its Inventar before. I got as one of my first rare drops

It looks not very good but has a really good attribute combination. Only with bad values. It can be a random drop or connected to the feather.

- My personal feeling at having feathers in the Inventar with the player is that it makes the drops change somehow. I get longer drop sequences with similar items. For example i get a lot 6 socket items drops, like 2 or 3 each map for something like 6 maps. Then it suddenly stops. But often some other strange thing happens like finding 8 chaos drops in the next 6 maps. But there are long periods where nothing happens too. The item drops seems to be more "extrem". It can be random, but in my opinion it is not just random. As the drop system in PoE in general is random, it is very difficult to prove a change on it.

Facts:

- The picture is official, because posted in "Supporter newsletter 41"

- The text at the link to them pciture says: "And for no particular reason, an image highlighting a Small Life Flask. [link]"

- Next to the small flask is a red blood mark on the ground

- The picture was made in the "The Climb" act one at the "Lioneye's Standard"

- The red blood mark on the ground only appears when the player is getting to the "Lioneye's Standard" for the first time with a new character. There the player needs to kill a not Skeleton monster (for example a goatmen) close to the position where the blood mark can appear. If the player return to the place later the blood mark will not appear again.

Speculation
- No idea. Perhaps you can find out something? Just observe the red blood mark the next time you start with a new character.

I have talked to many pople about the new Ring "Anglers Plait"

One Person told, that he got a drop of the new Ring using the items:

- Goldrim Leather Cap
- Rigwald's Charge Highland Blade
- Warped Timepiece Turquoise Amulet
- Solaris Lorica Copper Plate
- Voidheart Iron Ring
- Dream Fragments Sapphire Ring
- Slitherpinch Bronzescale Gauntlets
- Headhunter Leather Belt
- Wondertrap Velvet Slippers

He was able to link an Anglers Plait ring. But I am not sure if the item collection was used at the drop or not. Furthermore he told, that the items he used are not corrupted.

Assuming the collection was really used:

- I don't think GGG would use Headhunter as drop mechanic. Only very very few player are rich enough for that. (All other items connected to fishing are very cheap: Slitherpinch, Fairgraves)

- Slitherpinch Bronzescale Gauntlets are used. I think they are somehow connected to fishing.

- ALL items used are Uniques.

Fairgraves' Tricorne can trigger a rod drop from Boss Monster. Assuming the player used a Fairgraves' Tricorne it is plausible, that Captain Fairgraves can drop a fishing rod. As he is connected to the Fairgraves' Tricorne by his name, it could be that he can give additional hints: The exclamation marks in the water.

If this picture is no fake, it is a hint about the fishing locations. (And the ocean as location fits with the official Picture "trust_me_fish_here.jpg")

The areas marked with the exclamation mark could be the "Fishing Pools". If you do not see the fishing pools by fairgraves, you have to find them by your self. This could be a difficult process. If there is a limited amount of fish at the pool the attributes on the rods start to make sense for example: "Reduced fishing pool consumption".

I wanted to put not offical pictures in the second post. But I do one of it as answer here.

Yes, I think it was all a joke and I stopped looking for a fishing secret for a long time.. But I changed my opinion as reaction of a comment of Chris. I asked Chris as he was in the game chat. And he answered (This is not absolute fresh but not sooo old):

"The community made it real". In my opinion this means that the secret could be implemented in the meantime. Or at least be implemented soon. Fishing itself could be independent of Krillson too.

I do not expect, that you use special items or make a hidden vendor trade and can use the rod on a magical way with a fishing animation. I would expect something not so spectacular, like using the rod just with a spell and get a slightly higher chance to get good item drops. Or something like that.

For all I care I think fish are already there

Most of you haven't fished IRL, right? Because in every other post I've seen about fishing you're missing one key ingredient, which is patience.

You should also get your facts right. In the second picture you say

Yes, I think some Items could be missing to make it work.

If somebody is playing the game, I thought the is called "Player". What else do you mean?

I mean that the one with the fishing rod in that image is not a player, but a piece of decoration. He's always there. The player in that picture has two thrust swords.
