[3.1] Inferno Sprinkler Knight: Uber Lab - T16 - Shaper - Elder - League Starter (Molten Strike)
FAQ:
Spoiler
What changed since 3.0?
We are taking Life+MoM route instead. Dps is lower as a result, but if you want to midnlessly facetank things, you need to make sacrifices. There is also a pure life version, but I don't recommend it to new players, as it requires more knowledge of game mechanics and boss fights. ES version is still more then viable and still powerful, but also expensive as always - having a 20+ex budget is a minimum for it to be worth it. Also, thanks to Ancestral Call, Molten Strike is kind of viable for clear as well! Why Elementalist? Since there is no longer any incentive to go with Berserker leech (RIP VP), defenses matter a lot more in post 3.0 world. Elementalist has a few defensive mods plus a great QoL for almost immortal Golems and additional resistances built into Ascendancy which helps tremendously with gearing. Berserker does get better dps (20-25% more on average), but taking extra damage versus Elementalist's elemental mitigation does swing the ball slightly in Witch's favour. Short class comparison:
Spoiler
Assuming all classes go for the same amount of life:
Elementalist: 451k dps per ball, 6278 life. Berserker: 567k dps (around 25% more), 6210 life (effectively 5650 life due to 10% increased damage taken), 12% less elemental resistances. Inquisitor: 460k dps, 6163 life, has to go crit to match dps (and swap a defensive flask for Diamond), dps falls down vs bosses where you can't sustain Power charges from Assassin's Mark (down to 397k). Inquisitor isn't made for Strength stacking, since there isn't many general/projectile Crit nodes in the area. Raider: Very low dps, there isn't enough points to grab Frenzy charges while also stretching the tree to grab Elemental Overload. Same problem as Inquisitor, Raider is made for Crit, which doesn't work great with Strength stacking. Scion: 372k dps (around 20% less), 6344 life, can drop Silver flask due to Raider sub-ascendancy granting Onslaught. Why Molten Strike? It has great single target dps, and bossing was always were I had most fun with the game. If you want a fast clearer, go with EK Nova or something. That being said, mapping speed is actually decent with Ancestral Call. Is this build expensive? League starter? Not expensive to get it started, however, some key upgrades can be expensive further down the line. It can definitely be played as a league starter, but you will have to do some minimal amount of trading to get some (cheap!) leveling weapons. Personally, I've started Abyss league with a Xirgil's Crank ED Occultist (and regretted it), but after ripping my 5L XC and no Fuses left, I decided to reroll with good ol' Molten Strike, and with minimal investment it was doing much better then the Occultist. Total spending was:
Spoiler
Dyadus: 2 Chaos for almost perfect (284-330/15) rolls. Otherwise under 1C.
Belt: 1-3 Chaos. Lots and lots of great and cheap belts in Abyss league. Tabula: Dropped, but 8-10 Chaos otherwise. 5L are much cheaper. Mortem Morsu->Ornament of the East->Wasp Nest: Spent altogether 3 Chaos on weapons during leveling. Ornament and Wasp Nest were sold within next day for 1 Chaos each, so no loss there. Thief's Torment: 5 Chaos for one with very good (23@ res / 59 life gain) rolls. Ngamahu Tiki: 17 Chaos. Not necessary for the build, you can buy much cheaper rare amulets. Helmet: Dropped some crappy helmet with res and self crafted life. Wildfire: One dropped, one from quest in act 5. Shield: 2 Chaos. Shaper's Touch: 3 Chaos. Total: Around 45 Chaos. Without any changes to the gear that I was using from level 70->86, I done several full key Uber Lab runs and easily finished corrupted tier 14 maps. Even tier 15 and tier 16 (with easier map mods) was doable once I bough a +2 projectiles helmet and learned the fight mechanics (playing mostly with old VP you kind of skipped them). "Build XXX does more dps!": Good for them, but dps isn't everything. The goal of this build is to provide the user with a character where you can right click a tier 15 boss and facetank it while drinking a tea/coffee/beer in the other hand, and possibly some of the tier 16 as well with a slightest amount of moving around. Combined eHP of Life+Mana and dual "life/mana gained on hit" from Thief's Torment is used to achieve this goal. Last but not least, Abyss jewels which provide such a great dps boost to other Molten Strike builds (mostly claw ones), will most likely be gone next league. This build however, will prevail. Life+MoM vs Pure Life vs Life+ES vs Full ES: Since writing a revision for 3.1, and getting more currency for upgrades, I have personally rerolled into a full life build, but I don't recommend it on a budget or to newer players due to low life pool. Pure life is a lot more squishier, with only 6-6.5k or so life, but dps is a lot higher. Use this version if you are good at dodging things and don't mind occasional one-shots. Life+ES version provides great dps and survivability in one package, but affording it is what will keep most players out. Full ES is similar in gearing to Life+ES, but its passive tree differs massively compared to other versions, has high singular healthpool, and great dps, but is also very costly. Lycosidae vs Rare shield: Honestly, it's a hard decision. Lycosidae let's you ignore accuracy, so you don't need Versatility and Precision on the tree, but at the same time, you still need Dexterity for your gems and you need to take more life since Lyco doesn't provide a lot of it. I leave it up to you to choose which one is better. A big plus of a rare shield, however, is the price - you can snatch one with 80+ life, strength and another beefy mod for much less then the price of Lycosidae. How it works:
Spoiler
Molten Strike with its great amount of projectiles hits numerous time a second, even against single target. For sustain, we use Thief's Torment, which works almost as if we had our old VP. To utilize 100% of the ring's power, we go MoM. To reach big amount of mana without too many sacrifices, we use Shaper's Touch which will provide us with some big mana pool since we travel mainly on the left side of the tree and will end up with around 400 strength just from that alone - even if you are on a budget (no Brutus) and don't stack strength. To utilize it fully, our end game weapon of choice will be Brutus' Lead Sprinkler.

After a lot of problems, I finally managed to get my current rig to record stuff. Sorry about the quality, will try to get it better in the future.
3.1 Life/ES: Shaper run. Life: Shaper run. Life: Chimera run - Monster AoE, Boss AoE, Boss life, Beyond, Power Charges. Life: Vaal Temple T16 - Crit, Poison, Vulnerability, No regen. Life: Twin Plaza boss, Carcass boss, T13 Ulaman, Minotaur - map mods in description. Life: Minotaur run - Easy mods. Life: Hydra run - AoE, Crit, Extra Lightning. Life: Hydra, Phoenix - Crit, Poison, Boss life, Boss AoE, Elemental reistances // Equilibrium, Poison, Hexproof, Ignites, Less AoE. MoM Argus, Izaro, Twin Core (T13), Reef (T15), Lava Lake (T15) 3.0 MoM: 7 Key Uber Lab run - this was recorded on my old laptop, less then stellar fps. Pros and Cons:
Spoiler
Pros:
- Manliest Witch build ever. - Good bosskiller and great dps. - All map mods, including "no leech" (for MoM version) and "reflect". - Very tanky with easy 5-5.5k life, 2-2.5k mana for MoM for a total of 7000-8000 fast leeching eHP. Or 5k life +4-5k ES if you invest enough currency for 9-10k eHP. - Map curses work on you only at 50% effectiveness, improving your tankiness even more. - You can delete Uber Izaro and do full key runs easily on less then 1 Ex budget. - Exciting "in your face" playstyle. - Can pretty much insta leech post VP nerf. - Leveling is made super easy with Life on hit gear. - Cheap to get started. Cons: - It's a "in your face" build, if your eHP isn't high you can die to one shots since Multistrike might delay your dodging. - Min-maxing gear is somewhat expensive, ex. rare/normal helmets with enchantments, Brutus, Xoph's etc. - Mapping speed is slow compared to QoTF Wanders/EK Nova/Windrippers etc. (but so are 95% of other builds). - Have to be careful if mapping with Molten Strike, since it takes time for balls to fall and kill trash. Ascendancy and Pantheon powers:
Spoiler
We pick Elementalist as our ascendancy.
Liege of the Primordial: We get +40% increased fire damage with Flame Golem, further 38-40% increased damage from Flame Golem, and 18% attack/cast speed from Lightning Golem. Pendulum of Destruction: A big increase in damage, and extra AoE. AoE does not hurt Molten Strike as much as you might think, since it is 25% on top of 50% that we already get from jewels (and even more if are using Dying Sun). If you ever tried stacking extra increased AoE on top of AoE gem in other builds, you know that after the 3.0 changes, every additional point of increased area is less and less impactful. Since Pendulum is a timed buff, you can consider it as only 40% increased damage instead of 100% every 10 seconds for 4 seconds. Hopefully GGG will buff Elementalist in the near future. Mastermind of Discord: We go for Elemental Overload, and proccing it is easiest with Orb of Storms, which is a Lightning spell. Once you use it, you trigger extra penetration from Discord and Elemental Overload at the same time. Great buff before and during boss fights or tougher enemies. Paragon of Calamity: Reflect protection is still quite important if you don't want to one-shot yourself with all the screen clutter that is happening while you attack. We could run Elemental Reflect map with this node and Yugul pantheon power. Major God Power: - The Brine King. Stuns and freezes can be deadly, this pantheon power does help a lot vs both. Worth upgrading if you decide to take it. - The Soul of Arakaali. You can use Blood Rage together with this pantheon power, so that every time your Immortal Call triggers, you get 50% more life/mana leech and gain for 4 seconds. Blood Rage also allows you to build Frenzy charges. Has to be upgraded if you want the benefit. Minor God Power: - Tukohama. While attacking with Multistrike, we will be stationary at least for a second, and longer if we tank damage. Tukohama greatly helps when you want to go full yolo a boss. Life regen is great for MoM version, but useless if you go full life with Vaal Pact. - Yugul. We do have reflect protection from ascendancy, however, if you want to run Elemental Reflect maps, this will allow you to do it. 5% reduced cold damage taken isn't worth Divine Vessel, unless you want to min-max or have nothing else to do. Which version should I play? + PoB pastebins:
Spoiler
All configurations use exact same Config settings and Ngamahu Tiki, to keep pure setup/tree comparisons easier. You can add Xoph's amulet yourself to check differences (especially powerful for Life/ES/Full ES versions).
Dyadus: Super budget: https://pastebin.com/9f7wmVLz 6.9k eHP, 140k dps. Small budget: https://pastebin.com/eMwtF2Uq 7.2k eHP, 149k dps. Pros: Cheap, under 1ex budget. Cons: Low dps and lower survivability stats. Summary: Great for a league-starter, cheap, will get you easily to high tier maps and kill higher content if you're a good player. Brutus MoM + Lycosidae: https://pastebin.com/HZSd5TX3 8k eHP, 267k dps. Pros: Great eHP and decent dps. Cons: Much more expensive then Dyadus version. Summary: Defensive, good dps, not recommended to tank telegraphed attacks but other then that, will survive a lot. Brutus MoM + Rare shield: https://pastebin.com/wZyBCuH9 8k eHP, 268k dps. Pros: Great eHP and decent dps. Cheaper then Lycosidae version. Cons: Less flexibility on the passive tree then Lycosidae version. Summary: Defensive, good dps, not recommended to tank telegraphed attacks but other then that, will survive a lot. Brutus Pure Life, offensive: https://pastebin.com/d1Cda3hi 6k HP, 376k dps. Pros: Amazing dps. Cons: Expensive, squishy - will die to one-shots a lot. Cannot farm Uber Lab due to having VP. Summary: Not recommended for new players, requires a lot of dodging but has the greatest dps output. Brutus Pure Life, defensive: https://pastebin.com/8XmsUwKV 6.5k HP, 330k dps. Pros: Great dps, slightly better survivability then offensive version. Cons: Expensive, can still die to one-shots. Cannot farm Uber Lab due to having VP. Summary: Not recommended for new players, requires a fair bit of dodging. Shouldn't die to no ordinary boss, unless you facetank Minotaur burrow/Shaper slam etc. Brutus Life+ES: https://pastebin.com/GqXx6vdg 9k eHP, 328k dps. Pros: Great combined eHP, great dps. Cons: Most expensive of all, kind of requires Xoph's Blood to reach full potential (extra strength affecting life, dps but also ES). Cannot farm Uber Lab due to having VP. Summary: Expensive, but definately worth it. Almost matches the dps of Pure Life version but provides superior defensive value. Brutus Life+ES+MoM: https://pastebin.com/S21QHNXe 10.7k eHP, 237k dps. Pros: Greatest combined eHP, period. Up to 12k eHP with Xoph's and good gear. Cons: Most expensive of all, requires Xoph's Blood to reach full potential (extra strength affecting life, dps but also ES and Mana), not the greatest dps (only better then Dyadus). Cannot farm Uber Lab due to having VP. Summary: If you want something super extra mega tanky, and have currency to spare, this might be a good choice. Brutus Full ES: https://pastebin.com/SP2g57wV 7.8k ES, 370k dps (8.5k and 408k with Xophs). Pros: Much better scaling in terms of eHP and damage compared to other versions. Cons: Expensive. Also, "Energy shield gained on hit" or Clarity "% of mana as ES" Watcher's Eye are really strong and possibly required for sustain. Passives and Bandits:
Spoiler
Bandits:
Kill all is the best option. If you are mad about running Uber Lab rather then mapping, take Oak. Passives: Example 37 points tree First, Strength/Dexterity nodes by Witch, as you are more then likely to lack stats. Firewalker is nice for damage and resistances, after that, head straight down and pick up all the juicy nodes in the Templar area. Heart and Soul is also nice if you struggle with mana, but if you prefer you might skip it for now so you can travel further in your tree. Only switch to melee after you've taken both jewel sockets and got 2 Wildfire jewels. Important note: pick Mind over Matter once you get Thief's Torment ring. Even if you want to go with life version in the end game, MoM will help you greatly during leveling and with survivability when farming experience in lower tier maps. Example 57 points tree Not much to say here, just carry on all the way down to Art of the Gladiator and grab Elemental Overload at some point. You can go for Constitution if you prefer more life, if not, go towards Point Blank first. Example 78 points tree Constituion, Point Blank, jewel sockets and Fury Bolts are all great nodes that we should have by now. If you do not have any Life Gain on Hit on your gear, prioritize getting Vitality Void and mixed life/mana leech node next to it. Gear:

Bread and butter of this build. If you cannot afford it, don't worry - Dyadus is super cheap and enough to do majority of game's content without much trouble. For end-game, use either a good rare with Strength, resistances and life. If on a budget, use Tabula. If you go with full ES or hybrid Life+ES version, use Geofri's Sanctuary for massive ES and good resistances. Shaper's Touch is great for survivability through added mana for MoM. If on a budget or you don't use Lycosidae, it will also give you decent amount of accuracy. Finally, if you go with pure Life version, use can use rare gloves with life/strength/attack speed, and hopefully other nice mods life added fire or resistances. For belt, use a rare with resistances, strength and life. If using Brutus, Strength becomes more important, but Abyss jewels are OP, so stick to Stygian. If you are using full ES version, you might want to use Cyclopean Coil, as it's really cheap but provides great ES/dps boost. Alberon's are best in slot, no rare with t1 stats will beat it. Lioneye's Paws are great for leveling, being available 19 levels before Alberon's, and also a better choice if you cannot afford Brutus since you won't benefit as much from Strength. Thief's Torment is a base of this build, working like an old Vaal Pact's little brother. You can also use Elder rings with life gain on hit/resist/strength for same effect, but they are much more expensive, and don't synergize with MoM versions due to no mana gained on hit. Finally, if you go with full ES version, just use rings with high strength/resistances/ES and possibly Fire/Elemental damage. For shield, use Lycosidae if you can afford it. Otherwise, use a rare shield with life, Strength, resistances and possibly accuracy or other damage mods (ES shields can roll quite a lot of increased fire damage, for example, while Evasion shields can roll attack speed). Since you will need some Dexterity on the tree, you are likely to pick up Versatility and Precision, and with MoM version you will most likely be using Shaper's Touch - this will give you enough accuracy, to the point when Lycosidae is not much of an upgrade over a 30-50 Chaos rare shield, due to added strength/more life/resistances. Lycosidae is definately worth it on a pure life version, where you are more starved for points. You do not need an enchantment to play with this build, as they can be expensive. Rare helmets are best since you can craft/chaos spam/essence craft your own affixes. Hrimor's Resolve is great if you are on a budget, and also makes you Freeze/Chill immune. Xoph's Blood is BiS amulet for this build. Worth every bit of Chaos spent on it, and every bit of time it takes to farm it. Ngamahu Tiki is also a truly amazing amulet for its price, great for both end-game and leveling. Use it if you cannot afford Xoph's Blood, as it also has fire resistance, making switch a lot easier. Flasks: One anti-bleed, one anti-freeze, one life flask for emergencies/labs. As for offensive flasks: - Dying Sun is great both for bossing and clearing - extra projectiles help vs bosses, AoE helps vs trash. - Wise Oak will provide you with great dps boost as long as your fire resistance is highest. - Silver flask is also great for added dps and mobility. - Finally, if you are feeling ballsy (pun not intended), you can swap either Basalt or Life flask for Sulphur flask for slightly more dps, or Doedre's Elixir for Frenzy charges. Jewels: We want 2 of these in Marauder/Templar areas. Pick one up in act 5 when leveling this build. Efficient Training goes by the Witch starting position, and Inertia between Duelist/Ranger. But, only used those if you have Brutus' Lead Sprinkler. Lastly, any rare jewels you unlock should have Fire damage, Increased Damage, Strength, Maximum Life, Attack Speed, Area Damage, Projectile Damage mods or resistances. However, With Abyss jewels being as OP as they are, it would be a waste of your currency to buy traditional jewels: use what Abyss league provides instead. Don't forget to get "Axe" jewels if using Dyadus. Gems:
Spoiler
Main Skill:
Molten Strike + Elemental Damage + Elemental Focus + Concentrated Effect + Multistrike + Fire Penetration Swap Fire Penetration with Ancestral Call when you map. Alternate mapping gems:
Spoiler
You might prefer using another skill instead of Molten Strike for clearing. If that's the case, just use:
Sunder Swap Molten Strike and Sunder around. Rares will be tougher but packs will die quicker. Works best in linear, indoor maps. Wild Strike You need a green gem, so instead of Fire Penetration, use Faster Attacks. Then swap Faster Attacks for bosses and Wild Strike for clear. Wild Strike works great in more open maps, where chain/projectiles kill everything around you. Frost Blades Same as above, you need a green gem in your setup. Personally, I found damage to be a bit lackluster and Wild Strike superior for both clear and single target, however, Mathil is using it, so there's that. Auras + Curses: Anger Best offensive aura out there, and biggest dps increase per point of mana reserved. However, you might want to not run any damage aura at all if your mana pool for MoM is too small. It depends if you want more safety of dps. I run without it, unless I want to clear faster some white/yellow tier maps. If running a Pure Life version, this aura is a must have. If running MoM, it depends on how much you value survivability vs dps. Haste Good to use in Pure Life version, just make sure you have a spare Enlighten (level 3 is necessary) and link them three together with Anger. Do not use it if running MoM. Clarity Not necessary, but it does improve your regeneration for Uber Lab and versus various degens. It doesn't reserve that much mana, so might as well use it. MoM version exclusive. Buffs and debuffs: Flame Golem + Lightning Golem + Cast When Damage Taken Last thing you want to do, is wasting time recasting golems, which can kill you in a boss fight. Vaal Lightning Trap or Vaal Haste Great vs all bosses, if you don't forget to use it. Pick either one and roll with it. You might not have enough gem slots to use both. Elemental Weakness (corrupted gloves) If you don't want to self cast curse and you cannot afford corrupted gloves, you can use it in one of the CwDT setups. Ancestral Protector 20% more attack speed. Nothing more to say here, just use it vs bosses. You can link it to Blind support if you find a spare gemslot. Movement: Leap Slam/Shield Charge + Faster Attacks + Fortify Leap Slam is a great movement skill, especially in the Lab or some less then A-type layout maps. However, Shield Charge will proc Fortify much more easily, and generally is a faster skill to move around linear/open maps. Elemental Overload / Mastermind of Discord Proc: Orb of Storms + Critical Strikes + Faster Casting Faster Casting is both offensive and defensive link, as it allows you to cast the spell quicker and you can be back attacking much sooner. Increasing the speed also makes OoS attack more often, triggering EO more reliably. Being a Lightning Skill, it also procs our bonus from Mastermind of Discord. Win - win. You can also use Ice Spear in one of your CwDT setups to increase probability of EO triggering while you map. However, if you are short on links, drop Faster Casting - you will still be able to trigger EO easily versus bosses. Spike damage protection: Cast When Damage Taken + Immortal Call + Increased Duration No explaning needed I hope. Additional defensive measures: Vortex / Molten Shell First one provides a 20% slow that also works for bosses, second one can boost your armour by around 1-1.5k (not much, but it might just save your life). These work best in your CwDT setups, but it all depends on which gems you want to prioritize. How to calculate true dps:
Spoiler
First off, the dps calculator: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1903956
Remember that you need to put dps values without Point Blank bonus. Few versions before, Path of Building did calculate Molten Strike Ball dps with Multistrike correctly, however, somewhere in the middle of 3.0 this feature got broken and Multistrike is showing up as a dps loss. To get semi-accurate Ball dps for the calculator, I suggest multiplying your "Molten Strike Melee Hit" attack speed with "Molten Strike Magma Balls" average hit. Leveling tips and gear Upgrade Order:
Spoiler
Consult leveling tree for passive progression. Here are few tips for leveling:
1.) Freezing Pulse -> Firestorm. Once you unlock 2 strength sockets and get 2x Wildfire jewels, reroll into melee with Molten Strike, Ancestral Call, Elemental Damage to Attacks and Elemental Focus/Concentrated Effect. You will need to unlock quest in the Library to get some gems, or trade for them. 2.) For weapon progression, use claws for their life gain on hit. Mortem Morsu -> Ornament of the East -> Wasp Nest -> Dyadus. All of these super cheap, even at the league start. 3.) Get Thief's Torment as soon as you can. Only get MoM after getting Thief's Torment. Upgrade Order: Once you get your rares, Dyadus etc., and you are in a fresh league, try to get upgrades in this order: 1.) Tabula or corrupted 6 link armour. 2.) Better belt/shield/helmet/jewels. (70+ life everywhere and enough resistances to slightly overcap). 3.) Wise Oak flask. 4.) +2 or +3 Molten Strike projectiles enchantment. Following upgrades can be bought in any order: 5.a) Xoph's Blood. 5.b) Brutus' Lead Sprinkler plus strength based gear. Save up enough so that you can afford gear with enough resistances, since you are more likely to craft strength instead resistances. 5.c) Dying Sun. 5.d) Elemental Weakness corrupted gloves. In the Abyss League, it might be a good idea to not rush getting Brutus, since Abyss jewels provide a lot of flat damage. It makes Dyadus->Brutus + Str gear switch feel a lot less powerful. I have bought Brutus first in Abyss, and while I don't really regret it, buying other stuff could have been more beneficial. Having Xoph's amulet also makes Brutus switch feel a lot better due to having more strength, and since it is expensive, true power of Brutus is locked behind a currency sink. Poe.Trade gear links:

Another build by me, and this time, another bosskiller build. If you liked my Azure Knight, you will probably like this build as well.
After playing Blade Flurry 3 leagues in a row, I've burned out. Completely. I don't want to play another Blade Flurry character ever again. But, I've still wanted to play Witch, still wanted to play melee or semi-melee, and still wanted to kick ass. So I've looked at other possibilities. However, I didn't want to make just a worse version of Berserker/Scion/Raider. I've seen Invalesco's hybrid life/ES HoWA build on the forums, and later, some RF life/ES mana Guardian Shaper kill post on reddit, which used Geofri's + Shaper's Touch. From these 2 completely different ideas, my new idea of Molten Strike was born. Here's the link to Invalesco build: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1981964 I couldn't find RF link now, for which I apologize. How it works:
Spoiler
The premise of this build is to use Brutus Lead Sprinkler, which gets its offensive power from stacking Strength. Strength stacking, together with Geofri's Sanctuary and Shaper's Touch, provides us with some outrageous ES pool. To utilize it, we use Soul Tether, which allows us to leech to both life and ES. At the same time, having big ES pool over life makes it easy to reliably get the bonuses from Damage on Full life gem.
If you prefer even more defensive approach, you can use MoM for a massive 12-13k eHP pool. Videos:

Still leveling, will upload videos as I go.
Please note my laptop is ancient, so expect lag/freezes and occassional deaths due to poor fps. I'll make better videos once I level up a bit more. Thief's Torment version: 7 Key Uber Lab run Soul Tether (no MoM) version: Phoenix run - level 90. Minotaur run - level 90. Shaped Racecourse, Elemental Reflect - level 86. Uber Izaro - level 85. Xoph's Domain - level 83. Tul's Domain - level 83. Esh's Domain - level 82. Chimera run - level 80. Minotaur kill - level 80. Normal Atziri - leveling 75-80 at 200-300k exp per hour. Unfortunately my laptop freezes a lot when recording so even though I had only 2 deaths in total, one is on this video. https://i.imgur.com/k1dpqGl.png Pros and Cons:

Pros:
- Great bosskiller and amazing dps. - Very tanky with easy 5k life and 5k+ ES at levels 85-90. So far I've tanked: Minotaur Burrow/Slam, Shaper slam, Uber Izaro slam, attacking while standing in a field of Flame/Frost Bearers and more. - Manliest Witch build ever. - Reflectproof. - Hybrids aren't popular, so you won't be expected to pay up extras for hybrid gear (like helmets/shields/life+es rings etc.). - Apart from weapons, it doesn't cost that much to get it started (enchantments/6-links/Xoph's Blood etc. excluded) or could be started with Ngahamu's Flame and life based gear on a budget. - Leveling is made super easy with Life on hit gear and Brutus (I've carried on my own single target for my leveling group of 2 wanders, Ancestral Warchief Duelist and a Blade Flurry Scion). - Uber Lab version runs can afk in traps, deletes Izaro and does full key runs easily. - Exciting "In your face" playstyle. Cons: - It's a "in your face" build, if your eHP isn't high you can die to one shots since Multistrike might delay your dodging. - Leveling might be tougher without life gain on hit (no early access to leech). - Min-maxing gear is somewhat expensive, ex. rare/normal helmets with enchantments are hard to find since ES meta death and Tempest Binding being no.1 for goldmine for lab runners. Not that Tempest is bad, but its too expensive compared to normal/rares which not many people enchant anymore. - Mapping speed is slow compared to QoTF Wanders etc. Ascendancy and Pantheon powers:

Paragon of Calamity: Reflect protection is quite important if you don't want to one-shot yourself. We can even run Elemental Reflect map with this node and Yugul pantheon power. Major God Power: - The Brine King. Stuns and freezes can be deadly, this pantheon power does help a lot vs both. Worth upgrading. - The Soul of Arakaali. You can use Blood Rage together with this pantheon power, so that every time your Immortal Call triggers, you get 50% more life/es leech for 4 seconds. Even with Blood Rage's degen, this is still a 20-30% more ES leech. Life regen is useless unless you follow an Uber Lab version, so only then worth upgrading. - Yugul. We do have reflect protection from ascendancy, however, if you want to run Elemental Reflect maps, this will allow you to do it. 5% reduced cold damage taken isn't worth Divine Vessel, unless you want to min-max or have nothing else to do. Bandits:
Kill all is the best option for majority of players. If you are following Uber Lab variation and want to dedicate this character for Lab runinng, take Oak. Note: When following Life+MoM, Uber Lab or Life based variations, parts of the leveling trees might not apply. Consult respective pastebins/passive tree links for referrence. Example 32 points tree First, get Elemental Overload and Strength/Dexterity nodes, as you are more then likely to lack stats. Firewalker is nice for damage and resistances, after that, head straight down and pick up all the juicy nodes in the Templar area. Heart and Soul is also nice if you struggle with mana, and we will take it later on anyway, but if you prefer you might skip it for now so you can travel further in your tree. Example 57 points tree Not much to say here, just carry on all the way down to Art of the Gladiator. You can go for Constitution if you prefer more life, if not, go towards Point Blank first. Example 75 points tree Constituion, Point Blank, jewel sockets and Fury Bolts are all great nodes that we should have by now. If you do not have any Life Gain on Hit on your gear, prioritize getting Vitality Void and mixed life/mana leech node next to it. Example 99 points tree This is more or less what you want in the end game. You have enough dexterity to unspec 30 point node we took at the start. From here, you can take whatever you want - damage nodes, life nodes, resistances, maybe even MoM (and getting Clarity instead of Discipline). See next link for my character's intended tree. Example 111 points tree (level 88) Featured Life/ES version (medium-high budget):

You can also check alternative version setups further in the guide, from Uber Lab farmers to league starting budget versions. This is my main setup for mapping/T16 etc. Currently, I've respecced my character to farm Uber Lab, so checking my character is going to show you different version.

Gear:
Bread and butter of this build. If you cannot afford it, I highly recommend checking my low budget versions at the bottom of the post. You could also go Ngamahu's Flame road and build for Cyclone/Molten Strike until you can afford Brutus. Geofri's Sanctuary has life, resistances and ES. But my, what an ES boost! With over 1.1-1.2k strength, no rare Regalia, no matter how perfectly rolled, will beat ES amount on this armour. Shaper's Touch is an absolute beast. 220-250% increased Global Energy Shield (EPIC), ~40 life (okish), ~400 accuracy (great), ~600 mana (EPIC if you also go MoM, meh otherwise). Soul Tether allows us to leech into both Life and Energy Shield, which in turn allows us to utilize Damage on Full Life gem, unlike other, life-focused versions of Sprinkler build. Alberon's are best in slot, no rare with t1 stats will beat it. Lioneye's Paws are great for leveling, being available 19 levels before Alberon's. You want high strength rolls and resistances on all your rare gear. Other nice mods are obviously Life, incraesed Elemental Damage with Attacks, flat Fire damage or Attack Speed. Some shields can be good even without strength, especially high rolled ES shields. We could use Lycosidae shield for more dps and skip accuracy on rings, however, capping resistances might be really hard/expensive. You do not need an enchantment to play with this build, as they can be expensive. Rare helmets are best since you can craft/chaos spam/essence craft your own affixes. - Silver flask is also great for added dps. - Finally, if you are feeling ballsy (pun not intended), you can swap either Basalt or Life flask for Sulphur flask for slightly more dps, or Doedre's Elixir for Frenzy charges. Jewels: We want 2 of these in Marauder/Templar areas. Pick one up in act 6 when leveling this build. Efficient Training goes near by the Witch starting position, and Inertias next to Vaal Pact and between Duelist/Ranger positions. Lastly, any rare jewels you unlock should have Fire damage, Increased Damage, Strength, Maximum Life, Attack Speed, Area Damage, Projectile Damage mods or resistances. Gems:
Spoiler
Main Skill:
Molten Strike + Elemental Damage + Elemental Focus + Increased AoE + Multistrike + Fire Penetration Swap Inreased AoE with Concentrated Effect for bosses and once you get Xoph's Heart and Mastermind of Discord, swap permanently Fire Penetration with Damage on Full Life (if using life/ES version only). Note: You might prefer using Sunder instead of Molten Strike for clearing. If that's the case, just swap Sunder/Molten Strike around for trash/bosses and leave Concentrated Effect permanently in. In this case, you won't need Increased Area gem. Auras + Curses: Anger Best offensive aura out there, and biggest dps increase per point of mana reserved. Discipline Great defensive boost, providing around 750-900 ES. If you decide to go with slightly tankier, MoM version, you might want to skip this aura in order to have more unreserved mana. Projectile Weakness / Elemental Weakness (corrupted gloves) If you don't want to self cast curse and you cannot afford corrupted Shaper's Touch, you can use it in one of the CwDT setups. At first, I was using Flammability, but Projectile Weakness provides bigger dps increase. Ancestral Protector 20% more attack speed. Nothing more to say here, just use it vs bosses. Movement: Leap Slam/Shield Charge + Faster Attacks + Fortify Leap Slam is a great movement skill, especially in the Lab or some less then A-type layout maps. However, Shield Charge will proc Fortify much more easily, and generally is a faster skill. Spike damage protection: Cast When Damage Taken + Immortal Call + Increased Duration No explaning needed I hope. PoB pastebin and stats:

You can play around with different gear settings etc.. This is based on my current character gear, but level 91 and fully buffed. Still loads of room for improvement, like better rings/jewel, boot enchantment etc. You can expect ~5.5k life, ~4.5-6k ES. ~5.5k life, ~1.5k unreserved mana (3k total), ~4-5k ES and a bit less dps if you pick MoM. 713k dps per ball on normal enemy (x12 balls, theoretically possible to hit 8.5 million dps). 800k dps per ball if my rings had WED mod (9.6 million). 850k dps if I had some kind of dps enchantment on boots (added fire, attack speed or penetration) (10.2 million dps). 1.0 million with level 99 and more dps focused jewels (12 million dps). Having said all this: Take it with a massive grain of salt. Not all Molten Strike projectiles will hit the target. Not all of the projectiles will get full Point Blank bonus. If you want to calculate more true dps output, use this guys calculator: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1903956 In my case, buffed dps vs Shaper/Guaridan type boss reaches 3.2 million dps (possibly more if Lightning Trap is used instead of Vaal Haste, however, Shock can only be set at 50%, not 20%). Running Uber Lab without specialization for it:
Spoiler
Being a VP build, running Uber Lab is a bit riskier then for high regen characters. I have made a Lab running off-shot versions, however, main build does indeed struggle with trap sections. Here are some tips that you can use when you decide to do UL, or if you want to go on a longer Lab session. It is up to you to decide if they are worth your time: - Unspec Vaal Pact. This will give you some amount of regeneration (175-225/s), which might just save your life. You could replace Silver flask with a Sulphur flask, giving you another 300-375 life regen per second on top of it, depending on your ES amount. - Have an instant life flask. You could even use 2 life flasks. - Swap one of your dps flask for a Quicksilver flask of Adrenaline - movement speed matters a lot. - Unequip Soul Tether when not fighting Izaro. You can easily put it back in while he is being lifted on the elevator without wasting time, and unequip it before the next area is open. This will allow you to enter trap sections with full Energy Shield and allow regeneration if you unspecced VP. You can swap it around with Perandus Blazon, extra 20% flask duration means your Silver/Quicksilver flasks will work for longer. Another good belt is Bated Breath, which works great for ES recharge. You can equip and 1 or 2 Vaal Disciplines, replacing Ice Spear from CwDT or Faster Casting from OoS. Each gem will give you at least 1.5k ES recovery per second, and last 3 seconds (5 if linked with Inc. Duration gem). - Remember to use your Leap Slam, or use it if you are normally running with Shield Charge. - You can use Chaos Golem for more physical mitigation instead of Lightning Golem. - You can use Stone Golem for additional regen instead of Fire Golem. There might be other tricks I don't know of/remember that could apply to this build. Leveling gear/tips:
Spoiler
Both Shaper's Touch and Geofri's Sanctuary are high level items, and it is these 2 that provide almost all of our ES on their own. Therefore, you will want to level as a normal life build, ignoring ES almost completely. - Since we don't get leech until late in the leveling process (around level 50-60 I believe), you might struggle early. However, life gained on hit can very easily carry you to maps. For this reason, Thief's Torment is the BiS unique item for leveling, as it works like having instant life flasks even with shitty dps. Pick it up at level 30 and you will become almost unkillable unless one-shot. If you cannot get this ring, use Blasphemy Poacher's Mark for leveling, use Claw based weapons, or Life Gain on Hit gem. - Goldrim is a golden standard leveling unique thanks to its resistances. Honourhome is also an option as a poor man's Goldrim. Three Dragons is usually more expensive, but also has loads of resists. - If you are leveling with Tabula or similar 6 link armour, do not use Damage on Full Life gem, but Penetration instead. Without a big layer of ES covering your life, you will not be on full life often enough to get full benefit from the gem. No other unique chests are really worth recommending for leveling, so if you don't have Tabula, stick to rares. - Mantra of Flames is a powerful jewel, until you get some decent rare. It is also relatively cheap. - Lioneye's Paws is like mini-Alberon's. Also helps greatly with Dexterity for gem levels. - Best leveling belts are: Belt of the Deceiver, Prismweave, The Magnate, Meginord's Girdle, Ryslatha's Coil and Perandus Blazon, in this order. - Rare amulet with loads of stats (mainly Strength) and resists will be fine. Astramentis and Carnage Heart are also great if you can afford them. - Lycosidae can be equipped early and will help with your dps. Thirst for Horrors is also a decent choice for leech before you can get any on the tree. - Good unique gloves include: Volkuur's Guidance (fire version), Ondar's Clasp, Meginord's Vise and Lochtonial Caress. Spoiler
Originally, I planned this build for Life/ES only, however I quickly realized that without having a lot of currency to start with (ex. start of the league), this isn't going to work.
I have added budget Life+MoM and Life based versions to the thread, and finally, a high regen variations designed to tackle and farm Uber Lab. Soul Tether version can reach 9-11k eHP (5+k Life and 4-6+k ES), but is more expensive then sticking to Life or Life/MoM since you absolutely need a linked unique to make it work. This version uses Shaper's Touch, Geofri's Sanctuary and Soul Tether to combine decent life pool with equally big ES pool. Soul Tether MoM is a more defensive version that can reach 12-13.5 eHP (5-5.5k Life, 3-3.5k Mana and 4-4.5k ES), but it sacrifices some of its dps to keep high pool of unreserved mana. This version also uses Shaper's Touch, Geofri's Sanctuary and Soul Tether to combine good life pool, great mana pool and decent ES pool. Life version has highest dps potential (have to drop Damage on Full Life gem but gets more strength, and can use Lycosidae or Lioneye's Vision), easier to cap resistances due to using more rares, but has limited potential in terms of eHP. The advantage is that this version is much cheaper, since you can make it work with a corrupted 6-linked rare (around 10-40c) or just a regular 6L life/resist/strength rare (150-400 Chaos for very good rolls). This version usually uses Meginord's Vise, Volkuur's Guidance or rare gloves, rare belt, Lycosidae and rare/unique body. Thief's Torment versions aren't fully optimized for mapping, having lower dps in general. These versions work as Life+MoM, easily achieving 5k life and 3k unreserved mana, and utilize Thief's Torment ring to help against curses and massively increase life and mana sustain even without VP. Main strength of these versions is high regen, making them great for Uber Lab farming. Dyadus budget versions are just that, alternative means of building Inferno Sprinkler character on a low budget, without Brutus'. It is up to the player to choose which versions he might prefer, but here is a quick cheat sheet with some stat comparisons: Alternative versions mini-guides:
Spoiler
Soul Tether version:
Spoiler
Even though life version is capable of higher dps, this version might be easier to play with thanks to big life pool it has. Once you get your leech going, you can tank biggest hits that can be thrown at you. That doesn't mean you can let your guard down, as burst damage can keep your ES pool down and you won't be able to tank big hits with just your life pool alone.
Example level 91 tree. Pastebin: https://pastebin.com/fT71zsGg Gear: Weapon: Brutus Lead Sprinkler. 180-240 Chaos for corrupted version. Shield: Rare with resistances, strength, life or damage mods. 5-50 Chaos for decent ones. Helmet: Rare with resistances, strength, life. 10-20 Chaos for good rolls, but +3 projectiles start from around 3-5 Exalted. Gloves: Shaper's Touch. 1-5 Chaos, 3-5 Exalted for curse corruption. Boots: Alberon's War Path. <1 Chaos, around 15 Chaos for 18% roll. Rings: Strength, resistances, accuracy, life. 10-100 Chaos. Amulet: Ngamahu Tiki. 5-10 Chaos. Xoph's Blood as an end-game amulet, prices start from 5 Exalted. Belt: Soul Tether. 5-15 Chaos for higher rolls. Chest: 6L Geofri's Sanctuary. Prices start from 7 Exalted. Flasks: Basalt, Silver, Sulphur, Life flasks and Wise Oak for a total of 10-15 Chaos. Add Dying Sun instead of Sulphur flask for additional 100 Chaos. Jewels: 2x Wildfire. One from leveling, <1 Chaos for the second one. 1x Efficient Training. 2-10 Chaos. 2x Inertia. 1-5 Chaos. Soul Tether + MoM version:
Spoiler
This isn't the biggest dps version, but the tankiest one, thanks to biggest possible eHP values. Apart from ES that can be leeched at a rate of over 1k per second, and mana that can be leeched at a rate of 700/second, we still have a healthy 5.5k life pool with instant leech.

Spoiler
This version is somewhat cheap, but also has the biggest dps ceiling and easy leeching thanks to big life pool and VP. However, this version isn't going to be great for Lab farming, and you still have to dodge telegraphed attacks.

Gloves: Meginord's Vise (<1 Chaos) or a rare pair with strength, attack speed, resistances and life. 5-50 Chaos. Boots: Alberon's War Path. <1 Chaos, around 15 Chaos for 18% roll. Rings: Strength, resistances, life, damage mods. 10-100 Chaos. Amulet: Ngamahu Tiki. 5-10 Chaos. Xoph's Blood as an end-game amulet, prices start from 5 Exalted. Belt: Heavy Belt with strength, life, resistances. 2-25 Chaos. Chest: 6L rare with strength, life and resistances. 50-300 Chaos. Alternatively, use 6L Belly of the Beast - 8+ Exalted. This version focuses solely on Uber Lab farming, stacking massive amount of regen and eHP with MoM, but can easily do T15 maps deathless (T16 deathless is much harder). Traps can be completely ignored when running this setup.

Hi,
Thank you for your build! It will allow me to reuse my previous characters gear. I have two sprinklers. Is it worth to use both or would a shield be better? Thanks! |
|
If you go with Geofri's + Soul Tether + Shaper's, you will desperately need to get all the resists you can get on just 2 rings, helmet, shield and only 1 rare jewel. With 2x Brutus, you will lose the shield slot which not only acts as additional place to find resists, but also strength/life/es.
As a side note, dual wielding Brutus over my current shield would net me 11.5% more dps at the cost of not only resists, but also 90 life and whooping 1k ES. "Thank you for kind words :) Edit: Added budget/league starter version that should allow to start mapping with this build and hopefully make currency for future upgrades. Thanks for this guide, very nice and informative. I will probably create this char next after I get my Ice Shot Raider to end game. I want to go the hybrid build straight so I need to save up some currency.
|

Well, if you don't want to save/farm/wait as much (6-link Geofri's is pretty much required to beat life versions with similar budget) you can jump straight into life based version.
I've just added a "medium budget version" section, where you can find some information about building very similar character on ~300-450 chaos budget - all stats are there without going into Path of Building, but if you do, you can play around with Path of Building pastebin to see how gear/gems/levels interact with stats. I don't think I've added any addional items in the pastebin to test different combinations, however. Who knows, maybe someone will even find something that I overlooked, until last night I didn't remember about existance of Ngamahu Tiki amulet or Hrimnor's Resolve helmet, which both are incredibly cheap and great for the life-based/budget versions or simply as a transition helmet before getting something with Molten Strike enchantment. Hi,
Thanks for your very detailed reply. I have two more questions, if you don't mind. 1) why soul thether if you already have zealot oath? With or without the life leech is applied to the ES, isn't it? 2) Which piece of gear should be prioritized once you have Geofri's, shapers and sprinkler? Xoph or dying sun? Many thanks! I am looking forward to start playing this build. |

"Since this is a Vaal Pact (no regen) build, ZO from Geofri's doesn't actually do anything for us, and under normal circumstances, we cannot leech into ES - you'd need to take Ghost Reaver, which would also disable your normal life leech permanently. With Soul Tether, we can leech into ES once our life is full, at a rate of 20% of maximum ES per second (20% base, +5% from Vitality Void, -5% from Soul Tether degen). Because Molten Strike hits multiple times per attack, and multiple attacks per second, it is very easy to reach 20% leech cap almost immediately once you start attacking. If you have only 4.8k ES (1.2k Strength, no ES on helmet/shield) this gives you almost 1k ES leeched per second. If you can reach 6k ES, this translates into 1.2k ES leeched per second. Without Soul Tether, leeching into ES and life wouldn't be possible. I believe that getting Dying Sun should be prioritized, it is very cheap in Harbinger. No point in waiting till you get 5-6 exalted to buy Xoph's when you can more easily buy Dying Sun, which in turn will help you get currency to buy Xoph's (by clearing faster/killing bosses quicker, you make more currency per minute).
