Daily Deal Feedback

I use the watchlist, and i wish there was a tier system for the watchlist. that is all i got. best wishes, happy easter, and GL-HF. :)

Daily deals still aren't on the Steam login screen. I'd assume that leads to a fair amount of lost revenue.

This is a good point.

1) Every workday i look at the ones that appear on the main news screen. If the theme interests me, i look at the individual deals in more detail. (definitely put the staff favourites here, to encourage more of my second behaviour from others)
2) If they could be scrolled through on the main page, that'd improve it, but yeah accessible enough.
3) I do, but i often miss them still because i don't check emails or log in to the site every day. Someone else suggested an SMS alert feature, which i agree would help.
4) I prefer themed sales
5) 40%, the rest are impulse buys on the day i get my supporter packs :P

Great work everyone. Really loving the art style at the moment.

Race season coming soon?

How often do you check the daily deals?

Almost daily (during a break at work) via the website.

"
Do you feel that Daily Deals are accessible enough?

I think I'm a small minority who checks the website regularly. I think they should be more accessible ingame. I don't go to the microtransactions tab to check which are the daily deals. Just a small system notification saying "Today we have a sale on scorpions!" would be useful. We have that for stash sales but not for other types right? I don't remember having seen that.

"
Do you use the Watchlist feature?

I use it but i think it is useless. I see what the deals are before I see the watchlist.

"
Do you prefer sales based on theme or microtransaction type?

Either one is good. Change it up a bit.

"
What percentage of your microtransaction purchases would you estimates are made because of daily deals?

most of them. With most of those being stash tabs.

"
Are there any features that you would like to see added to how Daily Deals work?

Being notified better. Especially when there is a sale on a skill effect that I am using.

Good job guys. Keep improving!
How often do you check the daily deals?
I didn't know there was one.

Do you feel that Daily Deals are accessible enough?
Since I've never heard of them until now, I'm assuming not.

Do you use the Watchlist feature?
I probably will now that I know it exists.

Do you prefer sales based on theme or microtransaction type?
Both. Both are fine.

What percentage of your microtransaction purchases would you estimates are made because of daily deals?

25% Anything lower falls in to the "meh" category. That feeling when someone looks at a sale, shrugs their shoulders and says "meh, that's not worth it". Anything higher than 33% runs the risk of it being too beneficial, and could potentially ruin any potential sales you have planned because players know something better will come along if their patient enough. This the Steam Sale effect. So, 25-33%, in my opinion is a good discount range that causes people to sit up take notice, and want to check the deals daily without it being too harmful to your business model.

None so far.

EDIT: I'm an idiot and completely misread the question.

Are there any features that you would like to see added to how Daily Deals work?
I don't know.

We would love to get your feedback on the following queries:

How often do you check the daily deals? Almost never because I launch the game through steam and the steam client doesn't show you what the daily deals are.

Do you feel that Daily Deals are accessible enough? Not through steam.

Do you use the Watchlist feature? No. Didn't know there was one.

Do you prefer sales based on theme or microtransaction type? Type?

What percentage of your microtransaction purchases would you estimates are made because of daily deals?

Maybe 1% and I've spent almost $6000

Are there any features that you would like to see added to how Daily Deals work?

Just make them more accessible to steam client.
How often do you check the daily deals?
- Every day when I check the web to read the new announcements

Do you feel that Daily Deals are accessible enough?
- yeah, since I mostly visit the webpage and it's the first thing that catches my eye.

Do you use the Watchlist feature?
- nope

Do you prefer sales based on theme or microtransaction type?
- hmm I guess based on type

What percentage of your microtransaction purchases would you estimates are made because of daily deals?
- Very few of them, maybe 10%. I usually just browse the store and get what I like.

Are there any features that you would like to see added to how Daily Deals work?
- They should also appear on Steam

keep up the good work, and create more gritty microtransactions, not only flashy ones! :P

a) That was not the question.
b) you're talking complete bollocks. do you have any idea how much money steam makes? do you have any idea what % of games are sold at full price on launch? do you really think steam would have sales if they were losing money?
c) if anything we need higher discounts, as several people have mentioned. seriously, if you feel bad paying less for virtual clothing feel free to buy them at full price but leave the rest of us alone, kthkxbye.

Having read a few pages of replies, I'm struck by the gulf between people who buy supporter packs to support the game and end up with spare points and lots of MTX, and the people who struggle to afford even the occasional $30 pack. The latter want cheaper MTX, while the former want stuff like "put the pieces on sale as well as the set, I hate buying dozens of mystery boxes trying to get that last piece".

I am becoming more attracted to the idea of using in-game currency to buy MTX, or at least buy discounts. It would have to be a non-tradeable item to stop alternate markets undercutting supporter packs so the NPC "hideout decoration" points does seem like the obvious choice. Maybe a once-a-league chance to spend a large quantity of NPC points on an 80% off coupon (I'm thinking you might need all the points from five of the seven level 8 NPCs, just so non-PvP players can participate)

I think you could also turn guild features into a nice currency sink for more engaged players. Whether that would pay off for GGG or suit your guild strategy I am not sure. The one guild-type feature I'd really like is a per-server map meeting area, like the towns but specific to either "all maps" or even split by tiers. Currently it's kinda hard to find parties to run maps with if you're a casual player, but there's certainly value in parties especially on the high tier maps. Sadly making that/those areas pay-to-access probably counts as pay-to-win, since it would be a functional part of the game and if it worked it could easily become virtually essential.

Also, like ZiggyD I think a single premium tab or half-usable currency tab in the free game would help sell those features. You could possibly add that as an in-game reward for finishing the basic game, turning the "you have to be level 25 to trade" condition into more of a progression.

A) You're right, my mistake. I have no idea how I misunderstood the question so badly.

B) No, it's not bollocks. Steam =/= GGG Valve gets a cut of everything sold through their platform (I want to say it's around 40%). GGG is a game development company with, what? A single game under their belt. Valve can get away with offering uninspiring (5-10%)at the start of the life span of a game. Then after a year or so start offering deep deals, the kind a lot of people wait for (50-75%). GGG needs to find a balance, because they can't afford to handle their one game the way Valve handles an entire marketplace of games.

C) So, no, we don't need bigger discounts. The bigger the discount the happier the fanbase might be, but that also means less revenue for the company. Like i said, they need to find a balance because a F2P game can't stay afloat on fan happiness alone. If it could, then Gazillion wouldn't have had an 18 month content drought because they couldn't afford to pay developers to develop new content for their game. They wouldn't have had to beg on hands and knees for a massive cash infusion so they could start development on a console version hoping it'll pull them out of their bankruptcy hole they put themselves into because of how often they gave away free stuff and how often they ran really big cash shop deals.
MTX search.

That is all.
