GGG knows from statistics how bad Cold Snap is. Giving feedback in that thread isn't going to change a thing. You'll sooner get a response if you post on reddit :)

I'm quite interested in an Elementalist Cold Snap build. The issue I find with going Voll's Protector full crit is that, if I missed a target or accidentally casted an extra time with 0 power charges, I'm out of commission and have to wait for that 4 second cooldown to be able to cast the next Cold Snap... that's a pain. Even if I have Inya's boots I can still see the occasion of this happening.
With RT version, I can cast Cold Snap at will. I won't have to worry about the spell missing targets or accidentally cast too many at a time. But the damage will be a lot lower than the crit version. Unless someone has experience with the crit version and can tell me otherwise. |

Here is a low life crit cold snap build, using that new staff, around a million dps. It would probably end up being stupidly expensive as well as having kinda low es and mana issues.

I'm doing an Elemental Overload Cold Snap build relying on DoT from the new duration AoE effect it has, and it feels very good right now. Double void battery for end game, though. I am going to have one soon... Farming for the second after that. Path of Building unfortunately does not seem to acknowledge the changes made to the gem yet for the purpose of showing it's DoT, so I don't have any reliable calcs of it's actual dps yet.

My problem with PoB is that castspeed is increasing the DPS of Cold Snap (while having no effect). And DoT isn't counted to the DPS. If you would gain from Gem A a Hit increase of 2% and a DoT increase of 20%, and from Gem B get a Hit increase of 3% and no DoT increase...then PoB would suggest you taking Gem B because DoT is ignored. Thats why making a CS Build in PoB is a bit tricky. The build from thealmond is showing exact that problem. Besides having every dmg increase on non shaper dmg...the dps is coming from cast speed. I made a Trickster build scaling DoT dmg. Without flasks, 0%quality lvl 20 gems im on almost 90k DoT with 36k Hit on shaper. Using Vaal RF, 20% gems and a Sulphur flask gives us 130k DoT and 55k Hit dmg on shaper.
