Hybrid nodes
I have an idea. What about nodes with "hybrid" stats? Something like " +5 STR +5 INT " and " +15 DEX + 15 INT ".

this would be helpfull in the highways over 6thclass, templar and duelist, and the lines heading to the center.
as this would facilitate requirements for hibrid builds |

Hybrid nodes are something we have discussed, but then dismissed as potentially more confusing and muddled.
I am happy to look at that decision again however. Is equipping items the main reason, or are there other advantages you would seek from mixed passives? If we had them, the most likely location would be the single line of attributes heading directly outwards from the Hybrid classes. Would you imagine them being at any other locations?
" In the very middle. Aside from that. Beside, I don't think there's really a need for hybrid nodes as the tree currently do a pretty darn good job at providing attributes when needed. |

i like to make out of "character zone" builds and it seems the areas i spoke of are the ones most needed.
as the characters usually end with a massive number of the wrong atributes. some examples: melle, lightning strike, tempest shield, enduring cry and discharge duelist build this is one of the better ones as stats on the way are good for the build but some int on the lower templar highway would help for gem lvling purposes, same for dex on the upper duelist highway. AoE ice nova witch could use some dex upper side 6th class highway and str on upper side templar highway. this is mainly to suport gem lvling/and to some extent gear usage. |

" They shouldn't be on the skill pathways but it would be awesome to see a few of those around as keystones on the edge of the passive skill tree placed between the "class area's". It is a nice extra bonus for the hybrid classes and it gives mono classes a nice way to get some int, dex or str without having to drop too much of there skill line/pathway focus. These Hybrid nodes make it ALLOT easier to get some stats you just miss for one of your gems. Last edited by Nijntje#1548 on Feb 21, 2012, 6:53:59 AM

Right now witches probably suffer the hardest from this as going out of your way for str significantly reduces the effectiveness of your build.
The only way to get significant int/str as a witch is to go directly to the center of the tree -Meteoric Destiny!

As some that also enjoys some extreme hyrbirds I don't like the idea of hybrid nodes. I think playing with the tree to get better access to the stats you need is the better option.
I like the center of the tree as a hub for stats when hybridizing is great. One thing that would help is if all pure classes had the same straight pathways of stats that the dexterity side of the tree has. That would allow other classes to get into their tree easier from the center.
strength should never be a problem for anyone due to heavy belts giving upwards of 35 strength (and having strength mods rather commonly on belts) and with onyx amulets giving up to 20.
That being said, I think it could be interesting to see nodes similar to precision (20 dex, 10% accuracy) and deep wisdom (20 int, 20 mana) in the usual paths of their opposites. I'd probably add a strength equivalent too (20 strength 20 life). |

yeah I think Faerwin's suggestion is good. A few value picks would be exciting as well as encouraging for hybrids/alternates.
to answer mod's question I think hybrid stats are more important for getting stats for skill gems than equipment. If you know you're going to use certain equipment it's more likely that you allocate necessary points and +stat equipment. Skill gems have a certain likelyhood of more suddenly/erratically being picked up, leveled etc. |
