Nope, you have it right, it's short for metagame. Which is far from 'most effective' anything, rather a reflection of what popular streamers recently played / pushed ladder with. You can use FOTM (flavour of the month) as a synonym.

Because people are lazy sheep unable to test things by themselves, even with the help of powerful tools like PoB.

O_o This league is awesome.. Beachhead maps are like running Baal runs back in D2, excellent fun. Not to mention they have given us access to new orbs that are the strongest we've seen since Eternals, the new orbs make Atlas progression much easier among other things - Ancient Orbs are amazing.

How can anyone truly say "this league sucks"...? Only reason I can honestly think of is that, you don't know what you're talking about.

It should also be quite obvious that 3.0 broke several records for GGG...
