What tips could anyone provide for running this in Mayhem HC?
Is a 4link sufficient from 28 - 70? I want to play this as it looks fun but I'm concerned about getting the necessary gear to make it complete. | |
" A 3link Soul Mantle does more damage than a Tabula, so it's absolutely sufficient. The hardest part in HC is getting the base setup, which is Soul Mantle and 2x Kikazaru. Once you have those, they'll carry you up to endgame on their own. In Turmoil HC the price of these stabilised around ~15c total after a day; it might be cheaper in Mayhem because there are more drops. There are basically three ways you can play until you get the gear: 1) Play a generic Totem build (like my leveling guide). 2) Play Sunder/AW and respec later on. 3) Get only the Soul Mantle and use a warding flask to deal with the curses. Out of these, 1) and 3) are the cheapest, but 2) will be the most effective early on. Mayhem will have a really brutal start and lots of currency drops, so it might be a good idea to start with Sunder even though it's more expensive. Builds and Guides:

How would you compare this build for endgame with the Hiero one from Orion72?

" The main difference is that this build uses Soul Mantle. It adds a ridiculous amount of damage to DP totems (more than doubles it) and I would personally use it on every DP totem build except Hierophant - because it's less efficient on him. The difference in damage is mostly noticable on bosses, because trash tends to die instantly anyway. In terms of EHP, I can't really compete with a Hierophant and a defensive body armour. In the end you're looking at about 8k vs 12k on similar gear. Though I do get fortify and a bit of block (~50% with Rumi's). Both builds can clear all content on a budget, but you can invest a lot of currency into this one (you can check the PoB link on endgame vs budget for differences). The main reason I'd sell you this build is because it's very versatile. It does very well on maps aswell as endgame bosses and the only map mods you'll ever notice are extremely high damage bonuses on monsters or no-regen. Plus it's really customizable. You can always make it excel at bossing or mapping by only making a few changes in your tree/gear. Great build so far, rolled in turmoil and now tweaking it in standard. Looking for advice on the best way to increase dps at this point. Obviously need to get levels/quality on some gems. According to POB right now at 87 with current gear I'm at 75k dps per totem, vs OP 335k, so a large difference. Curious if shamastic fury, and the totemic zeal nodes would be worth using instead of the chaos nodes above shadow. Any gear improvements for damage would be appreciated too
EDIT - I see why the difference in DPS is so high (POB in OP's link had wither set to 20 stacks and I was set to 1). Still would like input on best place for improvements. Current Gear

" That's some really good gear already tbh. The only thing I can suggest is getting your DP to 21, a helmet enchantment and getting better items in your weapon/amulet slots. I also recommend looking at crit multi Jewels, they should be really good for you right now.
