Plasma Screen Burn In Prevention

Plasma technology is never used in monitors; only in television sets. This is one reason why.

Maybe GGG will accommodate you, but I would not say that it is their responsibility. You're using the wrong tool for the job.

As for workarounds, maybe you could try some automatic brightness adjusters like flux.

You don't like plasma screens because they're bad for the environment?

Yes

Do you use Air Conditioning in your home?

Nope, in germany less people use air conditioning. One reason is because it uses to much power and is bad for the environment. The other reason is that it's just to expensive. But well, I don't use it due to the first reason. :)

Do you drive a car?

I don't possess one. I'm 26 years old and never had a car so far. I travel with public services or with my bicycle. I have a drivers licence, but as long as I don't have a job that forces me to drive with my own car, I won't buy one. Right now I'm studying and I can went to university with my bycicle. :)

Both of those do more damage than a plasma screen.

Maybe, but if everyone would use a plasma screen, then again it would do a hell of damage.

Hell, the computer you play PoE on probably uses more energy than his plasma screen.

I'm using a new laptop with really low power usage (Lenovo Y580 laptop). So I guess that won't be true what you're saying. ;)

A plasma screen is a perfectly legitimate purchase and telling someone that his problem is meaningless because it's a "bad purchase" is douchy.

If he makes a fail decision with buying a plasma screen, then it's not the GGGs duty to bring optional options into the game just for a handful plasma users. Everyone in this forum is crying for optional stuff and more, just because they use windows 95, are using 20 year old pc's or like here, plasma tv's. Those little optional things all the people want here doeswaste alot of time from GGG, while only a handful of people benefit from those optional stuff.

About his burning issue: Well, he could minimize the game every 30-60 min if he want prevent burning issues. That solves everything: No burning issues, no additional work for GGG and he can keep his plasma screen. Perfect for everyone. ;)

@PolarisOrbit: That's what I said. Plasma is good for Series/Movies, but not for games with static UI's. But then they called me asshole, just because I have an opinion and am right here. :(
I use plasma, and its not outdated technology rofl, it is the opposite.
The top tiers plasmas are the tv's that are closest to reference picture and i got one, the Panasonic ST50.

Reference picture means that the picture quality and settings in terms or contrast, brightness, color etc etc is as close as possible to the one that movie producers see in their studios... and if anyone knows about picture quality it is them.

However I to get the globe burnins to:/ but its temporary and only seen in white background, but since i play so much is always there because I play more then I do other stuff on my superior monitor.

Jesus christ this guy acenightfire is a fucking idiot. Shitting up the thread just to get attention. Can't we get a forum filter already?

OP to respond to your question: There's an application called "Always On Top". This allows any window to always be visible even if you click outside of it. You could just open 2 windows, make them as small as possible and put them on top of the spheres. Not the best way to fix your problem, but I'm sure it'll work.
Implement /players x already
As I mentioned earlier is this really a problem if you are playing normally? I mean every few minutes you're at a loading screen, and that (as far as I'm aware) is enough to negate the burn in issues.

I used to have a plasma TV, which I sold a year ago. It was 4 years old at that stage and even those Plasma TVs pretty much were already advanced enough that burn in issues had mostly become a thing of the past, unless of course you pretty much had the same image stay on the screen for hours on end.

Even if burn in does occur, I believe most newer ones (even mine had a feature like this) where you could run it after burn in had occurred to make it go away. To actually have permanent burn in you would need to stay say in town, logged in on that screen for hours on end, possibly even days on end.

As for somebody choosing plasma being a "loser" it is up to them... maybe they live in a cold climate, and the extra heat generated from their plasma tv means they don't have to use a heater, thereby saving costs and the world. At the end of the day let's be honest plasma TVs are hardly the world's biggest problem. If you really wanted to save the world, you wouldn't be playing a game where the servers have to be on 24 hours a day 7 days a week.....
