Can't get credit for Kitava kill

I killed Kitava (Act 10). I died about the same time he did, and I didn't get credit for it (though he was clearly dead, and I got the message that my resistances and Vaal skill costs had been decreased). Well, bad luck, I figured, I managed to hit the timing just right to fall into the cracks of some slightly-off check somewhere in the engine, I'll just do it again. So I did. This time, I made sure I wasn't standing in bad stuff as he died. But no credit at all. Again, I'm just standing looking at his corpse, and nothing is happening. I'm stuck! Please help!

I could probably figure out how to post a screenshot itself, if that's useful, but it just shows me standing there looking at a dead Kitava with "Kill Kitava" up where quest text lives.

I have the same problem, I killed him three times now and the quest still says that i have to kill Kitava.

Also just got this. I was dead when Kitava died the first time I tried, but still got the resistances prompt, and it has applied to my character. Ran through the last few zones again to be sure I was alive while a reset Kitava died a second time. Which is the resulting screenshot here:



Obviously can't progress any further without some sort of assistance in how to get completion on the quest.

Have you tried /recheck_achievements ?

I have exactly the same problem, any fix?

Just resolved the completion problem, by logging onto another character, and porting direct to the Epilogue once logged back into the broken character.

While the issue needs fixing, at least there is a reproducible fix.

Yep, same. No loot from Kitava, but that's small potatoes. :)

Same here 4 times now, with group. Same thing. Did recheck. Got one achi from that.

thou i started playing poe long time ago, until stopped playing and now back. Maybe there's something up with that?


but yeah, my group members got quest done, but not me. I dont get it.

I had the issue in Harbinger SC. As above; logging into another character, and then back to the bugged character allows you to port to the next step in the quest chain, and get completion.
