town scroll and scroll of wisdom are too expensive.

Can say as a new player that wasn't aware at first that you could transform the portal scrolls to wisdom scrolls I really struggled with this issue. Especially with what I consider a pretty small inventory space. I was sure I was missing something and kept looking for a NPC that would ID items for me.

After I found out I could get wisdom scrolls from portal scrolls it helped the issue but like it was suggested here my solution basically became to not bother picking up or ID'ing the majority of the items I found. If that is working as intended I don't think that's a design decision I personally agree with. I don't see how making it a huge hassle to identify items, especially early on, is adding anything to the game at all except tedium that might turn off new players.

Game looks promising otherwise though, the possibilities with the skill system blows my mind ;)
I think it really adds something to the game if IDing is not for free. I really liked it that i had to choose what to id and what not. In my opinion it is either that or the way it is in TQ(no ID scrolls at all). I hated the way it was in d2 because youu had to carry scrolls but they were kinda free so it was just annoying.

This thread should be added to the beginner FAQ in the sticky thread, it's really a noob trap.
In Diablo 2, it was better to ID items because you get more value out of them when you sell them, it's not the case here.
PoE forums ignore list script:

0.4: added "ignore" button. ignore list is now saved locally.
Its best not to ID at least 90% of items, maybe more. Rares should be picked up and sold, but beyond that blues are only worth it to ID if they could possibly be an upgrade or have very nice sockets, otherwise just leave em or sell em. I tend to fill up on 1x3 items and smaller before I go sell.
Another easy thing to help is to trade town portal scrolls for wisdom scrolls. I guess I don't portal back so much and I collect a bunch of town portal scrolls every time, so when I run low on wisdom scrolls, I trade the town portal scrolls for wisdom scrolls.

Honestly though, I do wish the wisdom scrolls were more common. The items are currency and reviewing/collecting items is extremely important to me, but due to the structure it's a little limited now. It's not that big of a deal though, but I'm sure it will be tweaked again at some point in the future.

I guess I'm just not used to not ID'ing all the magic items I find and instead tossing them away. Heck, in this game, many rare items get tossed away too, but only after ID.
