Help Maxing DPS with Sweep

Just got my first 6 link armor and trying to figure out what support gems would be required for my build to achieve the most dps. Any help would be highly appreciated.

Currently running on my 6-link

1. Sweep
2. Melee Physical Damage
3. Faster Attacks
4. Added Cold Damage
5. Added Fire Damage
6. Weapon Elemental Damage

Now the support gems i'm not sure about is the weapon elemental one, would something like added lightning, or added chaos damage give more dps? I think the concentrated effect would give effect but I dont want to give up my range on the sweep. Again, any feedback/help would be highly appreciated.

Well more info would be nice, if you could post others equips that would help, if you're running Ele damage on gear, to help with the damage, i see you missing +50% ele dmg from catalyst(3 nodes), that could boost your dmg considerable. i see you not running life leech? getting it from gear i guess, i certainly wouldn't like to run without it.

but what would certainly increase your damage would be sacking added cold damage from your link and putting a bloodmagic on it, then unskilling BM from tree and running auras, something like a hatred aura+ other dmg auras if you're really into ele damg. i really don't think added cold damage is worth a slot there , would consider increased radius/ concentrated effect over it if you're not into unspecing BM for the BM gem on slot.

hope it helps or bring some ideas, other than do the math check for what would be better dmg wise if that's only the case, or consider some extra radius never hurts.

softcore or hardcore? you must have a huge life pool, so many hp nodes.

Ah ok, sorry for not enough info. I'm playing in softcore, and not going for elemental damage at all. Here is my current gear:



I could try to replace the Weapon Elemental Damage with the Increased Area of Effect to see if the extra radius is good enough. Has anyone tried that with Sweep to see if its worthwhile? My goal with this character is to have the most amount of health possible, and using my 6-link chest and weapon for the damage. I'm just not sure on which support gems would be the most dps for this type of build.

Current Stats:
Level: 69
Health: 3928
Sweep Damage: 3297

option 1 get quality 16%+ Added Ligthing damage and get Shock nodes (north templar).
option 2 hatred aura
option 3 get some 12-15% physical mace nodes
option 4 get some elemental damage on items 2-40 lighting, fire ect and grab catalyse node group, run wrath, anger

Use concentrated effect and increased area damage. Remove blood magic, get hatred+other auras and 2% mana steal. Concentrated effect is the strongest damage gem you can use, since it will boost everything including elemental damage.

Pro tip: Sweep is really bad, and will get you killed countless times in maps.
Go for groundslam if you like to gain exp later on.

Yea I read about Ground Slam being really good, but I just wanted to try something different. But I didn't realize that the Mahori Erqi has a "Gems in this Item are Support by level 15 Increased Area of Effect. I should try to push to get that 6 link and use that with Concentrate Area Effect so I still have the increased area + the damage boost with the Concentrated effect.

Here's my preference on gems with sweep.


Sweep: Melee Physical, Faster attacks, Increased AoE, Concentrated effect, Added fire, if I had one more, probably do item quantity being a 6L Marohi since the aoe is built in. But really even with a 4L marohi you can pull some great dps, and great part is its huge physical so great leeching, that's where concentrated shines vs added fire, but you combine them all your dps skyrockets. My plan is to obviously get this weapon then jewel it to 6 sockets, and try for a 5L, if i get lucky with 6L before that then cool, if not will stop at first 5L.

I run hatred also for dps boost, and a second aura for defensiveness, if I was stronger I would possibly run haste.

I don't think he can get enough mana to support all that mana reserve and the 6 linked skill, with his current build

Only run hatred? Big dps boost for the weapon.

I know you can support a 5 Link with a fairly small mana pool. If anything his 6L could be reduced mana cost. Question is which performs better, added fire or running hatred aura. You could just run that one aura, have a little more mana, higher mana leech maybe? I run around with 4% mana leech and 100 something mana and it's overkill for 5L.
