Same issue here. The quest was already set as trying to help Kraityn (as that's who I picked on Normal difficulty), went to the Wetlands to talk to Oak and the quest showed as "decide if you want to help Oak" (or similar, you get the idea), Oak said something and I had to kill him right away.
Went to talk to Kraityn, chose "kill him" and killed him, went to kill Alira, same as Oak she said something then I had to fight her. The quest vanished, Eramir had nice things to say, but no skill points. Would be grateful for a fix soon, since this seems common. (Decided to explain my example since it seems a tiny bit different than most above.) |

Please fix the bandits reward. It has a big impact when playing old chars.

Bandits bugged, side quests bugged... pre-3.0 characters get shafted completely and not even a single response by GGG on ANYTHING regarding Standard. Like, I get it, you'd probably like it if we fucked off and deleted all our permanent characters, but if you're going to give us the "fuck you" treatment, at least come out and say it.

I am having the exact same issue. I understand that they won't drop amulets if you've already completed the quest, since the amulets would be unusable, but yeah, the game wants me to help Oak, kill the others, and won't let me talk to Eramir to get my book. I have tried on multiple characters and made sure that I had unspent passive points in case Eramir wouldn't give me the book because He'd have totake points away and I didn't have any unspent points to give. Still not getting anywhere. Talking to Oak is as normal, but Alira and Kraityn just fight, nothing else.
