My predictions for PoE... I'm a witch for a reason.

I don't think there will be a PoE 2 either. 3.0 is as PoE 2 as you will ever get.
After 6+ years on the same game wouldn't you want to work on something different? Corollary - after making millions of dollars how could you want to work on a different game. Gah, what to do! |

" GGG is far more important than a "one and done" software company, imo. --- They could always work on a card game. Something like... Hearthrock? Sorcery:theAssembly? |

I'm sure that they could still easily create a POE2, though maybe not in the present time frame. It could however, be set in the past: Heart of the Karui, Vaal: Rise to Power, Legends of the Maraketh, etc. Wraeclast's a big place. GGG could actually expand into the heartland and north to Maraketh and Phaaryl. There is still plenty of room to grow.

" I quite honestly doubt that, not that i'd care if they did or did not branch out, i assume most of the hopes/beliefs/assumptions/theories come from the fact that GGG just went up and announced basically a revamp of everything from zero up to end-game, while normally it would mark an end for a game as far as development focus on it goes, i really am doubtful that's the case here, especially since they are releasing this xBox version, which given the history, will most likely run into it's share of problems, so now they will have two platforms to try and manage. There's just too much left to do, for sure far more than 1-3 years worth. No rest for the wicked.

A POE 2 would be way behind content wise,POE has had a constant stream of content that a POE 2 would feel very bare bones. If you look at other games there are successful games that never bothered with sequels, they are not always a given.

I see awesome things in the future.
After the 10 acts(+Xbox) are up, running and polished, GGG can (fully) focus on the upcoming leagues, more detailed graphics, better performance and all those (small) QoL things :D d:-D*

" Sounds good to me. Can't wait to main Lioneye in the totally-not-TF2 game! |

I enjoy folks who predict/ask/for/demand 'PoE 2'...like Grinding Gear isn't basically building PoE2 into the original game when they do things like nearly triple the length of the story acts.
They actually factually built the sequel to your story into the existing game, fizzolks. Grinding Gear knows better than to pitch all the built-up investment people have in PoEO(riginal) out the window and ask folks to pony up for a brand new game. Y'all saw how well that worked out for Piranha Games, right? If not, look up Transverse sometime. It's a harrowing warning story of what happens when you build yourself into "the [Game] Company", then try to switch gears. Admittedly, people actually like Grinding Gear, but still. Anyways. Just because I feel like it...some'a MY predictions for PoE that nobody will care about! A.) The Xbox release will happen, to the immediate volcanic nerdrage of all the PC Master Race neckbeards. An Xbox subforum section will be added to this site. Six months down the road, nobody will care/remember that the Xbox version happened until something gets ported from one to the other, inciting another brief flare-up of the eternal struggle between Unwashed Console Peasants and PC Master Racers. Sane people will just play the game on the platform of their choice and wonder about controller support for PC until Chris shoots it down. B.) PoEXB will be met with favorable reviews, but ultimately become a 'Triple-B' title; a very solid effort from a competent developer that fits the developer's vision without overreaching itself, satisfying its audience without making a huge splash. I.e. everybody's actual favorite kind of game. It will not earn awards or accolades however, as it's neither an FPS nor made by Bungie. If neither condition is true, an Xbox game is forbidden by law from achieving widespread recognition. C.) GGG will continue to consider the U.S. a nice place to visit but hell if they want to live here. I mean com the frog on, would YOU move to the U.S. right now if you didn't/don't already live here? Frankly I'd damn near rather go and join GGG in New Zealand. They have hobbits down there. How do you not want to live in a land of hobbits and wizards if you're working on a game like PoE? D.) Trading will still suck. Trading will always suck. Such is Life in She/Her
