that would basically be the way to go, except in some rare cases like the occultist which doesnt grab ironwood for capped totem resists (jewels can do it too tho).
Sadly Path of building hasn´t updated the burning dmg gem yet to see the dps difference between now and then. Since the multiplier is even higher than the one of conc effect we will deal almost the damage while mapping like we would with conc effect equipped. I will upload all major Bossfights in a 5-7 with the build over time (mainly uploading while i cannot play).
Those runs are made with a Hierophant, doing that with any other class is basically the same. In this case i have 40% aoe (which i will respecc with a 5 link) in gloves for my rf, a chieftain would have more damage/defence near totems. Pyre: (25–35)% increased Burning Damage -> (80–100)% increased Burning Damage
Pyre is pretty insane now for non soulmantle stuff and for leveling in general. edit: after seeing those changes to burning damage gem, nodes on the tree, the pyre and other stuff it seems like ggg balances that stuff for ignites caused by a skill (lets say fireball) and not around degens like rf, searing bond or scorching ray. I would expect some nerfs to those over time. They felt balanced, not too weak or too strong, most of the time and all that combined can make especially RF and SR too crazy. We will see what happens next ;) If they rebalance something regarding the build further than now i would play the build again after wipes. hi,
i love this build but one question you say 'Picking the next big damage enhancing nodes on the tree with Elemental Equilibrium and Ironwood. Skill the big lifenodes on the way.' dont udnerstand why because youre totem hit only Fire dmg, sorry but i m very noob in build's craft. PS: forgive me for my bad english ;) |

" Elemental Equilibrium reduces enemys fire resistance (see guide, explained there) which is basically a huge damage node.
