I really don't see why people are bitching around like this. Quite some time ago, you were quite good if you could kill atziri. If you however were able to kill Über-Atziri, you were pretty much a god. Today, everybody farms shaper/über without any problems... not even requiring skill because you can face-tank pretty much everything.
Overall, the game became easier and easier every league (ascendancy, new uniques, new base types, higher tier mods, higher drop rate of uniques...). YES, ES builds will be weaker. YES, end game content will be harder. YES, you will need some more skill and time to do end game content. So what? That's the whole point of the changes. Also saying that people which have no GG gear will suffer the most: I don't think so. Having 8k ES instead of 9.5k ES will not destroy the game. Concerning Vaal Pact: There are and will be other mechanics to refresh ES, recharge is actually not bad at all (played it this league). Anyway, i am looking forward to these changes. Wait.. Isn't the meta right now 90% these fast "zerg" clearspeed ranged/casters that just zip around off-screening everything?... Why on earth are they nerfing melee?... How am I supposed to do anything as a lower-mid tier geared blade flurry assassin that has to get in close in order to do anything? By going with an evasion build? lol. Maybe make other stats like that not dumpster tier first.. Or if you're going to nerf ES lifestealing maybe add more ES on evasion gear so that its actually viable.
How about lowering the % Energy shield returns on gear/nodes so that top-tier geared folks are hitting ~9k ES instead of 11.5-12k? Lowering the return also encourages spec'ing into more shield nodes instead of damage stuff.. So by lowering ES returns you're inherently also dealing with the trivializing of stuff by damage stacking. It really seems to me that they're just aiming nerfs at the god tier players/RMT'ers and then the average joes like me that are newer to the game are just getting dumped on as result. Can we have the % on life keystones same as on ES on skill tree please? And rolls on jewels for life equal to ES too.
Also energy flasks, like life flasks :) Then it will be improvement. |

" I completely disagree. For starters, i did shaper/uber/T15 maps and everything "hard" i know in this game with an ES build which had 8k ES. No problems there, even without ES instant leech (used recovery). I honestly think that the game has become to easy. In the beginning, you needed understanding of the game and SKILL. Nowadays, it's super easy to clear all content of the game (at least that's the way i feel). What drives me the most in this game is the challenge to complete all content with my builds...and this sadly became to easy. I like the nerf and i don't think the life-based builds should get buffed. (I do understand that for HC this might be different. Seems developers dodge the fact - players need only a way to overcome huge damage spikes / one shots. Being it life based or ES based didn't matter at all. It did matter but those subtile problems like regen differences are ignorable. There are 2 solutions - remove damage spikes or implement defence possibilities. ES Nerfing feels good for me ( Life player ) but it doesn't help on bigger scale.
With every balance change you create a new meta. It is always defence biased. Life/ES/Armor/Evasion/Dodge/Resistances/Block... There are tons ways to do it. But there are should be more then 1 way. You have threshold jewels and flasks (Wise Oak) - why not implement threshold armor/weapon? Chest of XXXx = "Ignoring of 50% incoming damage if calculated damage is more then 70% of Life/es. This works only if yours Armor<Evasion" Chest of YYYy = "Regens 100% of HP ES and mana within 3 seconds if hit was more then 80% of yours total life/ES pool. This works only if yours Evasion>ES pool" and so on. Cheers. |
