Font Error

Hello, I had the same issue, I sent a messaged to ggg techsupport, they did not get back to me. They either ignored the email, they did not receive it, or they completely can't find anything about this and really have no idea how to fix it, we're the minority, 1 out of several thousands of players has this issue. But here's what my issues were.

Font error crash, Resource\FontResourceWindows.cpp
The Font in question changes from Pminglu, to DFPHeim or whatever, but it will always be "Line 57" on each crash.
The crash happens after a few minutes, or after running a map and trying to exiting it. i.e from the portal to hideout or exiting to character screen. Verifying Cache or re-installing the game did not fix it. Only poe had problem, other games like Dark Souls did not.

If you're having the same issue, then here's how I fixed it.
I did a clean install and downloaded version 390.77. I'm using GTX 1050.

When you do a Custom installation, there's a check box that will let you do that. You have to make sure it's clean install, as something in your setting may be causing the line 57 error.

I did not try other versions yet, and I also avoided the most recent one. But I think it doesn't matter which



Disclaimer: This may, or may not help you, as your crashes may slightly be different than mine.

I found how to fix it.

Just go to This PC-at the research place type the error or font error name then get in that file, there should be install button on the top.Push that button it will say it is already installed and option replace it. After you replace start game again until all those fronts gone and game will start.

I had a similar issue with a Himalaya font. I went \\localhost\c$\Windows\Fonts and found said font, and then selected install from the options, then replace current installation when prompted. This did the trick for me.

Another user said this, but yes going into C:/Windows/Fonts and finding the offending font, right clicking and selecting "show" allowed the game to run well for me. No deleting or taking ownership of files needed.

All i see for fonts in the c:\Windows\Fonts is PMingLIU regular and ExtB Regular in my folder

Cant find the single font anywhere either

Can confirm, this ^^^ fixed it for me, go to admin mode > find the font on \\localhost\c$\Windows\Fonts .. Del the offending font..

Error gone, game fixed.

After the patch that just rolled out today, i am getting errors for about 20 different fonts. Some of them i tried to install , some i didnt even have in my font directory, but error still occures and i cannot even start the game now. What happened with this patch that broke my game so all of the sudden ? Is there a way to fix it ? I tried the solutions listed in here, but they did not work.

I just ran into this issue today after patch. Unfortunately I also ran windows and nvidia driver updates. Tried a bunch of stuff with no luck, including the language/font stuff.

It ended up being latest nvidia driver issue (or so I assume). Any attempt to edit the profile will result in an error (which means no Frame Limiter). I'm forced to default the profile globally in order to avoid getting the various string of errors that pop up which ends with DX11 "failing".

I have not yet attempted to roll back driver to see if it fixes the issue. If it doesn't, then it is the patch that caused the problem.

All of the errors are related to the GUI assets not related to the actual game (ie the Message Of The Day banner).

*EDIT*

It appears to be the Power management mode option in the Nvidia Control Panel. If you set it to NVIDIA driver-controlled the errors come up without fail. Any other option does not cause the problem.

I have just had the same problem. The game crashed while doing breach in a map and I wasn't able to open the game anymore due to font error.
first I went to C:\Windows\Fonts found the culprit font and deleted it (I had to use TakeOwnershipPro in order to delete it which was already installed on my PC). I was still unable to open the game after! Then I restarted the PC and POE works again!
