@meemorize to start with you need to get a 6 link. Chaos skills do not benefit much from weapon but get most damage from links and levels. Secondly are you using the bow or consuming dark dagger? If it is the bow it is doing next to nothing for you. Buy a regular 6 link bow and craft it with essence of delirium if you are lucky you can get a +1 to all gems like I have or buy one for about 4 exalts or so. Also you can craft rings with essence for +%chaos damage as this is a huge damage boost up to 70% additional chaos damage. Also some of your jewels need to be upgraded like the one over near mind over matter chaos damage projectile damage es% if ya can they are expensive. This is a good starting point.

I'm using Consuming Dark for mapping and the Darkscorn Bow for Uber Lab since it was mentioned in the guide here and I don't have the currency to buy a nice +1 decay bow yet :/
Thanks for the tips on my setup, for some weird reason I thought that +%phys damage would scale my poison/chaos too, just read about "scaling poison" a bit more and seems like I was way wrong on that one so swapping out jewels now :D Thanks again for the feedback, super appreciated. Oh and one last thing, when using a Decay weapon (dagger or bow) do I still need the Poison Support gem? |

Decay does not stack like poison so it's all up to your play style. If you are throwing out ed every 3 seconds then yes poison is worth it. If not then not really especially till late game.

I'm confused about weapons. Wouldn't consuming dark be better once you hit 20/20 or better on your gems?

OK, so I tried this build, I have good daggers, tried a few of them, most of my gems are top lvl, just the main skill is lvl 17, but max quality. I'm lvl 89, uber lab done [on another build]. I don't get anywhere near 40-50k chaos DoT, I'm more like 15k.. and the damage feels insufficient even in yellow maps. 50k dps is also not that much in this game, even if we're talking chaos damage. The shield is really spectacular tho, I'm at 11-12k and good regen, I have some extra restart on rings, all in all.. very safe. But the damage is a problem, and the overall play style.. not crazy about it. Massage mobs, shoot projectile.. hope for the best. Oh, wait, they didn't die, do it again, hope for a boom. Oh, great, beautiful purple explosion! Yay. Oh, wait, a bunch of them are still alive. Back to massage... |

" No, consuming darks are for converting fire to chaos. This is pure chaos build. A very good dagger works best. I tried Bino for the increaed DoT. Neah. Still a good dagger. I could be wrong here tho.. I wasn't very successful at scaling the damage of this build. |

How do u compare this build to Caustic Arrow? Are there some big benefits over it in ED?

" You know your base dps depends only on the gem level and each level you get about 10% more dps. lvl 17 is too low. I don't know how you get it only lvl 17 at lvl 89. At lvl 89, my gem is at levle 19 and I have about 29k dot. Even at that time I can oneshot most blue packs in T10 maps. Now at lvl 93 with 21/20 ED and empower 4 I have 48k dot. |

Currently sitting at 29k DoT with this gear atm.
Things that need to be done: - Get my ED to 21/20 - Get lvl 4 Empower - Get chaos dmg on rings ( currently is expensive as shit due to needing dex/str also) - Get a shavs for LL - Get around to doing uber lab (lol) - Make a better Dagger |

I just hit level 82 and my dot unbuffed is already 25k. That is at level 19 ed and level 7 slower projectile. Also no empower in there. The damage ramps up hard with levels on gems. I will be able to get to a 24/20 in the end because of a +1 bow. The damage will just be crazy. T10 is a joke even at current gear get a few more levels and guardians shouldn't be to hard. Also still only at 8,300 es on low life build. Should be able to get close or just above 10k es.
